got a day off today so gonna do a little experiment.....normally if i need some extra cash on a day off ill come work for my dad for a mighty £60, today i've come to my dads factory but taken my laptop to see if i can win the amount at poker instead!

not sure what i'm gonna do, gonna start with 30 mins at rush poker then re-evaluate, maybe play some mtts....the trouble is that the games are not as soft during the day.

FFS sake its almost like i wanted it to happen...............$315 down in two sessions..........only positive thing is that i wasnt drunk or degening at higher stakes.....

However there was defintely some real tilt in there alongside the usual coolers/beats which any player will have to face, i cannot keep calling when i know i'm beat, even if my hand looks pretty.

been a great start to the month, 5661 hands & $148 with a $50 rakeback payment already, i'm putting this down to the study I am taking and sticking to one game (full ring) is helping a lot!

tonight im playing the $200k guaranteed again, either alongside a Full Tilt schedule of mtts or more likely Footie Manage if i cash again i will make sure im dosed up on caffeiene so i dont fall asleep at end game!

so far +$1361 for the year, very please with this :-)

March Goals

Last month was excellent profit wise (+$717) but over half of that is very unlikely to happen again as it was from a tourney cash and a degen session at $400 Rush…

This month I have to get back to grinding, I only expect to be playing $50 Rush and $50 Full Ring, carrying on my trend for buying in for 50bb’s – I want to log a lot of hands this month so I have a decent sample to see whether it works or not, with this is mind my March Goals are

Gold Iron Man Status
$400 Profit
1 Decent Tourney Cash

I also have 2 weeks of Cardrunners Membership so I want to spend some time looking at the videos, see if there is anything I can add to my game, there is a series of $50Rush vids by someone called Kush that has been recommended…

Doh Sleepy Head!!

In my life I have fallen asleep at some really stupid places or times, in nightclubs, during meals on trains etc however Sunday’s trip to the land of nod was the biggest fail of all time.

As readers might know, the $200k guaranteed on ipoker is a regular occurrence for me, however in around ten attempts I have only cashed once for $1440, and im about 6 without a cash including 2 bubbles when the tourney was in its old format (min cash was $500) and several coolers KK into AA etc…

So Sunday I had another pop and played pretty well, I was in the top 40 early after hitting a set and pretty maintained myself in a cash position for the whole 5 hours until the bubble burst, at the 5th break I remember I was 50th with 140 remaining and I went and got a drink, when I got back I decided to lie down with the laptop by my side, such a stupid thing to do as the next thing I know its 3:30am and ive been blinded out!!

So annoyed, I did manage to finish a semi respectable 76th for $432 but obviously if I was awake I could have had a real run at it….. the jump from 76th to 46th alone was worth and additional $400!!

So annoyed but hey at least it’s a lesson learnt, next time at the end game im gonna load up on Coffee and Pro Plus – hopefully my daughter might actually wake up after 6am as well which would help things!!

Month wise its pretty awesome that cash (split with my dad) plus some run good on Full Tilt means im up quite a bit, the pretty stats are below –

Wowsers still buzzing after last night,Barca are an amazing team and half hour in i was shaking my head thinking how the fuck can we beat these? there ball retention was unreal and they cut us open so many times.. hoever we rode the storm, got lucky and then scored two sweet goals.

RVP's finishing at times is amazing and then a 7 pass move from our box to Shava Drilling it in! Love it

Proud as hell!! not to proud about playing $400 Rush but sometimes you have a feeling?

Arsenal vs Barca

This week is going to be well slow for one reason – the first leg of Arsenal vs Barca, I literally cant remember being this excited about a game for ages and to be honest im feeling pretty confident, I know we took a humping last year but the team is totally different -

Last year we had Denilson, Rosicky, Bendter starting – and that’s not mentioning Silvestre!! Of last years 4-1 drubbing only Sagna, Clichy, Nasri & Walcott will start and too be honest Nasri and Walcott look like completely different players this season.

Gambling not Grinding

So been a couple more days and a third of the way into the month and I still cannot be arsed to play a legitimate session!! Tuesday after my post I just played Fifa for ages having a few cans and the when the mrs came home watched some telly….when she went to bed I was a pretty drunk and remembered I had $30 left on my stars account – I kinda realised that heads-up would be a bit risky and I could bust quickly so I decided to head for the 50bb max Omaha 6-max tables!!

I sat down played carefully over first few hands and then as soon as I doubled up I really pushed it….I literally was setting people all in all over the shop, no-one had more than $25 so I was only risking profit and then the dream hand happened, I was upto about $60 and had the dubious monster hand of 1079K and after a few raises I was all in for $25 in a 3 way pot…..terrible play I know and when I was up against AAxx and KKxx I actually knew straight away I would win! the 449 flop didn’t really help much but the 9 on the turn was sweet and just like that I was over $100 – I played on for bit and quit at $130 and withdrew it all.

Last night poker was again off the agenda as I agreed to watch the footie at a mates house, I figured the game would be boring so I made the decision to lump £20 on England… however looking at the fixture list I decided to do a treble, England at 5/4, Scotland to beat Northern Ireland at evens! And Holland to beat Austria at 1/3 I think – anyway it came in quite easily as only England made hard work of the game and that was £100 profit.

Quite amusing to think of all the hours of grinding away to make £6 an hour and I can make £160 on a bet and some drunken Omaha.

Not playing tonight as still not feeling it, my bankroll has been sitting on Full Tilt for a whole week and I haven’t played a hand – really need to crack on and earn some cash!

Non Poker Tilt

really wanted to start cracking on at Full Tilt tonight but im suffering from some severe tilt........

its started with dinner, we had a fairly simple but nice Lamb Chops but my daughter just couldn't eat them....even cut up tiny and smothered in ketchup she kept acting like she was going to choke or throw up! the trouble is she needs to start eating meat properly as im sure she has an iron deficiency - she's white as a ghost and always tired at only 4 years old!

Next up FIFA 11, playing online and some mug is Man Utd, i have a baby either with her head in the tv cupboard trying to pull all the shit out or pulling herself up to standing position using my arm hair!! whilst this is going on im getting smashed 3-1 because Arsenal have a shit defence - FFS the keeper has a 73 rating but you can understand why he has been rated that way!!

and even now the mrs is out, the kids are in bed but i have a brand new laptop which cost me £700+ but the fucker is hanging and the washing machine is clattering and banging away!! not even sure what that is winding me up!!!!

i really need a can of cider so poker is off tonight, will start Full Tilt tomorrow, will tie up figures for Jan tomorrow at work and get cracking on Feb - FML 9 days late!!!!

for three reasons.........

1) I'm playing on PokerStars because of their table limit which means I can set my highest stake to $50, and not degen away all my bankroll at $200 buyins... in truth this works to a degree but when i can drop $150+ at Omaha with $25 then what is the point?

2) I've been playing the 20-50bb tables and loving them, full of fish and i can generate rake fpps quicker - but on the 10th PokerStars are removing them!

3) And the main reason - Rakeback - now so far since I came back to stars at the tail end of last year I have paid $1400 in rake using there VIP Programme i have earnt $220 in bonuses... so basically 15% rakeback - and that was playing the 20/50bb tables which generate more fpps

if i go back to Tilt ill get 27% rakeback plus they definitely give more bonuses out, in the 3 months with stars all ive seen is a reload bonus where they offere a $5 ticket - Rubbish!!

can anyone see any problem with my reasoning??

Finally On Target

Had another good session at full ring last night, with the hour mark approaching and me starting to close down tables i was only up $15, however a rush of big pairs later and some flips with the shortstackers I logged off $80 up..

Couple that with about 7 or 8 winning heads-up battles for roughly $10-$15 a shot (I pick on shorts stackers) over the week and at last I find myself on target for the month with an hourly rate of over $10!!

The recovery has been pretty drastic but it only confirms that I need to stick to my best games, I’ll probably pretty much wrap up for the month as its my daughters 4th birthday and really wanna make sure she has a wicked weekend, bit annoyed that my mrs has scheduled her party during the Arsenal game but I guess I may be able to sneak into the bedroom to keep tabs – Arsenal should really be turning over Huddersfield big time!

Not much else to report, for those who care my balls are finally back to normal a couple of weeks after the snip – I may even man up and try and put them to use…..

At the time I was really thinking to myself “why do you bother” but I got myself some motivation from a mate, I had emailed him my blog post and he replied – “If you read between the lines of your post. You’re an addict going no where but to the bottom of the river!” and “It’s a sad picture mate, read it back….” I think the he was just on a wind up but to be honest it did kind of make me think a bit, I need to sort myself out and come up with a poker plan – looking at my stats what I need to do is obvious, drop 6 man tables and don’t play Omaha! I avoided it for ages last year and need to keep it out of any plans!

So basically the plan was to multi-table the Full Ring tables and have occasional Heads-Up games if I can find suitable opponents, unfortunately life got in the way of poker this weekend so I didn’t get to play much but in the two hours I did manage I absolutely crushed, playing full ring made it all seem a bit slower, I cant remember the last time I 24 tabled and actually had time between hands to think, looking back I can only think of a few hands, one where I had KK and the flop came 107x and I was a little worried of a set when my $10 bet was reraised all in but I was very surprised to see the villain show up with 78. Second one I had A10 of clubs and the flop came with two clubs and a ten for top pair, the villain check raised me and I was half tempted to fold but ended up staying in and hitting the flush to win a stack, I was really expecting AA or KK but the villain had 99…

1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back!

I have no idea what is wrong with me, my poker story is basically groundhog day, grind for a few days, a week win steadily then Tilt and Lose….Grind for a few days win steadily then get drunk and degen and lose.

Following my last post I played a few short sessions Tuesday and finished up $115, not many hands played just awesome game selection. I took a break Wednesday and went back to it last night.

Last night. Oh what a night.

Again game selection was key, I was playing Football Manager and scouting the heads-up tables for fish, when I found one I’d put FM on hold and play, it wasn’t a hugely successful night but I was up about $50 and approaching a bankroll of $1100.

Then two bad things happened. My mrs went to bed and I opened up a can – I figured that as I was playing opponents with $25 stacks or less the damage wouldn’t be too bad if I got unlucky – I didn’t figure in the fact that if I got drunk I wouldn’t know when to quit or If I got drunk tilt is magnified by a hundred.

I went to a Omaha table and found some ugly Hungarian dude with $25, 2 hands later he has $75 - WTF.

I don’t quit I carry in, at one point he had over $200 over my money, I somehow come back and win it all back. And head to the safe haven on No Limit Hold’em

Hit and Run, Hit and Run – im getting worked up at these clowns. I lose a $90 pot when I flop trip 5’s I bet the shit out of it but the river brings the 3rd diamond and I cant fold.

Back to Omaha, again I double some tard up twice…. At this point I’ve lost the plot im on my 5th pint can, not enough to be hammered but with tilt as well I genuinely cant remember what really happened.

I only quit when a bloke im playing sits out and says “ill be back, I need a piss” I take this as a sign that im obviously a ripe fruit that he wants to pick so I log off and go to bed – ive been playing heads up for 3 hours.

The damage actually wasn’t to great, $70 down for the night, but $120 down for the drunken degen session.

It could have been a lot worse, check my Omaha Graph and some of the big hands I won, they could easily of gone the other way.

Not sure what to say, should I quit and use the $950 odd in my account for something useful? I am ever going to be a sensible winning player or am I a drunken degenrate bum?

I had taken a break from the cash tables whilst i regained some confidence, i have been battered at the tables last week, almost half my bankroll lost - including a $100 tilt session at Omaha.

MTT night did not go well, I must of dusted of about 10 mtts without even one cash.

tonight i decided to dip my toe in the water, just a little heads-up...

about ten hands into my first game i lose with KJ on a Kxx flop when villain shoves with 9s which hits the turn.

he then types in "EZ GAME" and leaves the table.

i then lose a bit more to end up $72 down a quick check of my EV says i should of won $20

im getting killed on all ins. LOL EV

i've just redeposited some money which was needed as my bad run was so bad... it now means i am down for money the year already. in my figs below ive now addded in my share of the $335 cash win on ipoker as otherwise i just look so bad, and to be fair its money won at poker.

anyway the sick stats are here im about $380 on stars cash games, of the NLH games I am about $270 below EV - that cannot be right.

anyway, im back tomorrow, well behind platinum star pace so still to decide whether i am gonna hit the tables hard or ease myself back in.

damn in just over 2 hours im off for a vasectomy - happy days....

at only 29 a lot of people feel i'm too young for it but wih 4 kids and my latest Melina being an absolute devil (still not sleeping through at 8 months) i deffo dont want any more kids...

hopefully by the time im 50 all the kids will be out living their lives and me and the wife can enjoy our life and go travelling etc.

jesus a third of the way through the month and im only up $16 for 19 hours worth of game time, volume has been pretty decent and im bang on pace for Platinum Star. I guess all i need to do is hit a few winning sessions!

One thing i have decided is that Sunday night will be MTT night, the TV on Sunday is absolutely shit, basically from 6pm till gone 10pm my mrs watches Got to Dance, Dancing on Ice and Wild at heart - all terrible terrible shows.

not sure what bankroll management i should use? should i been playing $10 games and lower?

still havent made time to review Hand Histories or look at training vids etc.... there just isnt enough time in the day... if anyone has any links to training vids (preferably free) let me know!

Rocky Start

I’ve started the month with a lot of enthusiasm and determination, first two days were great, +$70 in cash and +$100 from my tourney night, next 3 days including this morning down -$232!

I feel at the moment that I have a lot of adjusting to do, especially now as I am playing a lot of shallow stacked 6 max as opposed to years of playing Full Ring normal tables.

There is a ton of work for me to do, some stuff I can do now, and other stuff I will need to build up a decent sample size first….. one of the main things is definitely checking my hands, what im planning to do is review every hand where I put in over $15 and review whether I played the hand badly, if im unsure ill post in the RTR forum.

Also at the moment I’m struggling with when to call when shortstacked villains just shove there $10 over my $1.35 opening raise, maybe this is something I should read up on, I’ve seen shit ranging from pocket 2’s, ace 7 and even queen 9 but when I seem to call its always AK or JJ+!!!

The one positive to take so far is that I am settled on my “grinder” session so I can farm VPPS and achieve Platinum Star, basically I load up 12 full ring and 12 6 max of the 20-55bb 50c tables and fire away, last night I played 1500 hands in an hour and earnt 200 VPPs….

Anyway so at the moment it isnt looking great, I’ve had to reinvest the withdrawal I made earlier plus a little bit more so my figures at present are

So the end of another year, I think this year has been a bit of a write-off, and after switching to a new laptop I don’t have the poker tracker stats to verify! From memory I can summarise the following

Highlights

 $1440 tourney score on Ipoker
 Up about £800 in live cash
 Good start on Pokerstars roughly up about $500

Lowlights

 Failing hard at Omaha
 Still haven’t conquered Tilt/Degen Issues
 Complete Lack of Volume

Now obviously looking forwards to 2011 I firstly need to address my failings, on the Omaha front I think I am cured, I havent played a single hand of Omaha since starting up on stars, the game makes me sick! Tilt/Degening is a work in progress, stars has the table limit feature so I can only play as high as $50 buyins , however this does not stop me tilting, I have twice lost $150 in a session as I have tilted and I need to control myself better! Lack of volume should be cleared by me aiming for Gold Star VIP which I think will need at least 25k hands a month…..

So without doing any in depth calculations im aiming to win $5k for the year, the aim is $300 a month table earnings not sure how much in rakeback bonuses and the rest with some tourney wins!

Really looking forward to Saturday when I can start playing!!

VPP calculation - $25 Full Rinr

So last night I logged a full ring session at 10c/25c blinds to work out how many VPPS I can clear. This game type is meant to be my best game but I always shy away as when I play I do the maximum tables allowed (24) and it requires my full attention, unfortunately with 4 kids and one being 7 months old I rarely get any time where I don’t have to have at least one eye/hand/backhand available to deal with them!

Anyway the session went pretty well I was aiming for 1000 hands and reached the target in about 50 minutes earning 106 VPPS,for comparison I would say the extra 10 minutes for the hour would of got me upto about 125 VPPS also for longer sessions the hourly would be even higher as it takes a good 15 minutes to get 24 tables up and actually playing as I always sit out for big blind.

results wise a winning session :-)

Last up for my experiment is heads-up this will easily have the worst VPP per hour but of course the win-rate should be the highest especially with all the bum-hunting I do! I’m planning to do 500 hands in bits and pieces over the next few days.

Once I have all my stats I will then work out my plan and target for 2011, my initial thoughts are $5k for the year not sure if this is to high? Currently im $500 up for the month on very low volumes so maybe its ok!

VPP Calculations - 6max $50

So as im winding down im thinking about my plan for 2011, i think if im to continue on Stars ill need to make sure i can hit Gold Star Level but im not sure about how many hands/hours ill need to play.

So what ive decided to do is play 500 hands of each of my games and see how many hours and VPPS i get, i need 3000 VPPS a month to hit gold star.

1st up 6 max 20-50bb's 25/50c blinds

i find that 6 tables works best for me but may try 9 when i get my new bigger laptop back, last night it took me 1 hour to play 500 hands and i earnt 101 VPPS

the session itself looks uneventful from the final stats but i was plus and minus $50 at various points - note to self not all shortstackers push with junk, ill need to identify good shortstackers and tighten up my calling range!!

netx up will be 24 tabling 10c/25c full ring which ill do tonight, at the end of all this i want to at least be able to see that i can play for say 20-25 hours a month and be able to hit gold star - possible at my stakes or not?

Winding Down

My new laptop lasted all of 2 weeks before it basically died….. screen froze which it had been doing maybe once or twice a day, I turned it off and it never switched back on!! I get a power light and noise but a black screen…. I googled and tried loads of fixes but no luck, it has been sent back to Sony this morning to fix and hopefully ill get it back before xmas.

Poker wise this was initially a boost as I have lost my Football Manager save and had extra time to grind the tables, however the motivation to play has just disappeared, I think in the whole of December I have managed two different sessions of over an hour, first session I lost $140 which was the usual killer combo of running bad turning into tilt, however I think a lesson has been learnt cos on the 2nd session after losing with aces to kings on a jack high flop when he hit running clubs to four flush me I started swearing and then realised that I better stop and calm down!! Recognising Tilt is going to be a key factor in me making money!!

Apart from these two sessions I have just had little 10 minutes dabs here and there, either bum hunting at heads up or playing upto 6 tables of $50 max on the 50bb max tables, I have literally no chance of getting gold star because of my laziness!

So plan for the moment is to try and play and grind my $860 roll into $1k for 2011, if I fall short ill probably just deposit to get me to that mark. I really need to think about what I plan to achieve in 2011 poker wise, this year has been a bit of a fail if im being honest, but I will evaluate all that at a later date!

New Month New Start (again!)

So tomorrow is a new month and about the 31st time ive made a fresh start at poker.

This time im gonna try and set realistic goals and hopefully stick to rules, rules that if I know I don’t follow then bad things happen.

*I didn’t update the blog as I was so pissed off but I came 86th in the $200k guaranteed on Sunday, that’s twice in 3 attempts that ive been 6 off the money. Min Cash was $500 and I maybe could of folded into it but I don’t like to play that way and when I saw 10’s in early position with 9 bb’s I knew I had to shove. When the button flat called only I knew I was in severe trouble and had to pray that he had AK and not AA/KK – my prayers were rewarded but unfortunately being a Muslim (albeit non practising) god gave me a AA5 flop as he doesn’t agree with gambling .

Sigh to that but I know I can do well at tourneys and should devote some time to them, I can even multitable it with football manager?

yeah so totally have not played hardly any poker since blowing off that money, my enthusiasm is at an all time low and it is not helped by my laptop being on its last legs, every time I load up Pokerstars recently it lasts 10 minutes before freezing up.

This will be remedied tomorrow by the arrival of this

really bad, only progressed through one match in each before being dispatched by higher league opposition. only benefit was a record gate receipts of £60k against Oldham in FA Cup 2nd round

Bagshaw was the star scoring more this year then the previous 2 years combined, Donzo and Ansah-Owusu dropped due to the morale issue where they get targeted as dangermen and lose the plot. Adu was pretty decent for an 18 year old and Smith had a good year where he forced himself into the first 11.

decided to post updates in my blog so that i can link any screenshots in here into a football manager forum i use.

anyway here goes

2013/2014 Blue Square Premiership - Tooting & Mitcham United

Tooting and Mitcham's first season in the Blue Square Prem and it started with a bit of a disaster, in the pre-season i sent out my scouts to scout all the free transfers in the game but i didnt realise that the list was 3000+ players long. lets just say that even now my scouts are still working through the list of players!!

so what this meant was that i couldnt really scout for new players so in the close season i only brought in 2 players a Liberian Striker Abe Donzo and a Journeyman Winger Craig Westcarr. My honest aims at this point were just to struggle through the season, concentrate on the Fa Cup when it arose to clear funds and maybe sell some high performing players so that next season i could have a fresh start with a decent bank balance.

What instead happened was utter domination, i won my first game 4-0 and remained top until 10 games to go where I was 16 points clear of 2nd place, at this point i went on manager holiday as i was pretty certain i wouldnt be caught but i think my assistant manager is a bit rubbish as i lost 6 out of the 10 games but luckily maintained a 3 point gap to win the league ahead of Crawley!

player wise my new striker was amazing netting 31 in 35, he was backed up by last seasons high performers, wingers Ansah-Owusu and Evina and my captain and rock Derrick Williams.

so i'm officially a League Club, i think a cull of my players is in order and hopefully i can hire a scout to look at players as my two scouts are still working through the list from last year!!

First Week @ Stars

so the first week is finished and im very pleased with myself, hand volume has been low, but profit has been high :-)

this is mainly due to discipline, I am spending a fair bit of time on game selection on heads and im doing my best to play when in the mood e.g. not tired, stressed or when any of the kids are needing attention...

majority of winnings is at headsup but I am also in profit at full ring and after a short session at 6 max... pretty damn pleased at the moment but I of course understand that poker will have swings and I just have to be prepared for it.

So in the last week i've imported a million purchased hands into my database and had a few trial runs with Table Ninja to get used to how mass multi tabling feels so I could start properly on Monday

The results have been positive, I won a buyin in my only full ring session and im a couple of buyins up at $50 headsup, people are literally giving money away!!

a few things ive noted

very few winning players on heads up stars, I generally search opponents whilst I Play them and I think ive found 2 players in profit!

Less Hands, on full tilt I played 16 tables which was 1000 hands per hour, why is 24 tables on stars 500 hands an hour? (i think i might have to test this again as this doesn't seem right)

bonus clearing sucks....... so I have this $10 stellar reward, I have unlocked 40% of this so far so $4......however my MGR is $29 so effective rakeback is what just over 10%??!?

also did 3 $2 180's last night screwed in all of them, worst was coming 32nd when my KK face A5 all in pre flop for a top 5 pot... flop A55!!

ill probabaly start tracking my figures soon and get them added but ill finish this post with a HH...

so my $1000 bankroll is on PokerStars, new beginnings and all that jazz...

the question is how much have I actually won at poker? have I won? Ive had several drunken mishaps, with bankrolls halved in one night. I had a costly experiment at Omaha, on the plus side I have played over 300k hands and subsequently raked back loads... I have cleared over $1k in bonuses, I have had 2 4 figure tournament scores and wins on a cash stake plus live cash wins....

its time to tally my numbers up!!

Full Tilt can be view in 2 steps, first go i won $936 at holdem and lost $260 at Omaha, after a break i came back and things were not the same, i lost $5 over 90k hands and lost $750 at Omaha - combined cash total is minus $80 :-(

however the combined rake and bonuses for these 300k hands has been worth +$2578!!

also on Full Tilt mainly thanks to the daily dollar my tournament total is plus $2530

damn havent posted in over 2 weeks, the longest break since this blog started....

Idid receive an email from an online poker buddy last week who said, are you busto?
I guess confessing some dirty tilt sessions followed by not posting for a couple of weeks would probably look like that was the case!

in fact the reason for my absence was that on my holiday to Spain, the day we were due back was also the day chosen by the spanish to have a national strike! my flight was cancelled and EasyJet couldnt not get us back until a week later! FML i had to shell out over £1000 on hotel/food and it looked like the poker account would need dissolving! luckily a combo of Overdraft plus Xmas savings saw me through the week and fingers crossed i will get a full refund from the travel insurance, has anyone had similar experiences when they have got the money back or shafted?

have played a tiny bit of poker, up $10 in cash in $10 in tourneys, i've just brought Fifa 11 though so poker may take a backseat whilst i get to grips with it, i at least want to be able to whip all my mates online.

FFS i post about how things are going well, then next session I lose $120 through basically being unable to fold big hands eg JJ and QQ on low flops when villain had KK or AA and then having AK on a K29 board, villain had raised utg pre and 4 bet shoved on the flop.... so obvious he has AA or KK but i still call.

To compound matters I go and single table Rush at the $50 buyin level and despite baby's screaming, kids jumping over me etc I dont take the hint that I might not be the best time to play losing another $100...

have self banned for the rest of the day and to be honest im unlikely to play again before my holiday, bankroll is $850 so im likely to redeposit upon my return.

Anyways will def not post again until when i get back for a month end review, think it should be positive even with me playing like a dick today!

in my last post i mentioned how i had accumalated a bankroll of around $100 on stars through the $2 180's but wasnt sure whether i should keep the money on there as i might blow it drunk........

last night i went on and played about 12 $2 180's and cashed once...i went on headsup Omaha and won back what i lost only to lose it all....

luckily i did cash out $60 so the loss is only $50 but i feel a bit stupid....

I’ve had a slow start to the month, bankroll is around the $1060 mark as I haven’t really put in any sessions of note since the last post, really need to up the volume, at least enough to clear the $50 fast bonus, however I have had some considerable poker success on different sites!!

Firstly as mentioned I deposited $10 into Stars to play some $2 180’s when drunk and managed to bink one and final table another, I withdrew $80 and despite losing $20 at HU cash I still have around $110 in stars as I again final tabled twice coming 5th and 1st again!! I think ill probably withdraw half and keep $50 for future games, I would keep it all but stars is my drunk account and I would feel a bit stupid waking up losing a whole $100 on some random game.

The Major success though happened last night; I had my 3rd attempt at the $320 buyin $200k prize pool MTT on ipoker through a stake.

It was a pretty comfortable and very enjoyable tournament, crucially I near on double up on about the 3rd hand when I got 3 streets of value with my AK on a K45J4 board…. The villain who was out of position just check called all the way with K10 for some reason. The Buffer of these chips was needed as over the next couple of hours I put pressure on some shorter stacked opponents only to lose with KK to AJ and 99 to AQ (rivered queen sigh!) and was soon down to my starting stack…..

However the key hand was getting it all in with KK to be called twice by 33 and AK, I held and from then on was comfortably in a money spot and survived all the way to finally finish 28th/780 for my second largest ever score of $1440.

Of course this will be split 50/50 so I expect a nice payment from my staker and this money will be used for Xmas funding – so f**** nice to be able to do something positive from proceeds of poker!!

In view of this I have decided to add a little extra box on the side to track achievements on other sites, I don’t want to put this in with my figures but I think it’s a little harsh on myself to ignore huge results like this, especially as my Full Tilt Tourney results are so bad!!

Tonight under the stake again im doing a £60 super satellite into the £1000 GUKPT in Brighton which is pretty much my hometown; it would be unbelievable to get a seat in such a big event!

damn had laptop troubles which meant i was laptopless for a week - i hardly coped!

in that time i managed a couple of poker sessions at mates houses to make sure i retained my bronze iron man status and i had some good sessions finishing up about $120 which means im back in profit and in a better frame of mind for the month ahead. The Profit has been withdrawn though as im desperate for cash (thats for a later post)

Last night i didnt really play any poker at first as i had lots of internet stuff to do and wanted to finish my season on footie manager.

A few cans later though I felt the urge and as I had banned from full tilt for the evening i did my maximum deposit on Poker Stars of $11 and loaded up 5 $2 180 manners

these are sick, 1st hand of one i make an optimistic shove with AQ against a raise and a flat call, i get called by both, one has AQ and the other has K7....no suprises who won

I carried on going and at one point looked like i'd cash in the remaining 4 games

however i busted one game 40ish and then in the sickest of sick i shove with KK and get called by Queen 10......queen 10.... which off course flops a full house and i finish 21st instead of going 3rd.

other two games i finish 9th and actually win so a nice profit for the evening of about $110... not sure whether to withdraw or keep a little stars roll, i wont keep these as part of my figures whatever i decide, these games will drive me mad if i play them all the time!

so i've spent the last couple of days in the think tank, where am I going wrong? how can I be such an erratic player? take a look at my graph, its a mess!!

looking at this kind of thing in my old mindset I would say to myself i'm a winning player i just have tilt issues - this is bullshit! my game has gotten worse over the last year, i'm break even over the last two months and about $200 down overall (excluding Omaha, i dont want to mention Omaha!)

i spend a fair bit of time playing poker as a hobby and I need to make sure its worthwhile, i dont want to make millions, I want to make enough to justify the time spend away from the wife and kinds, the time spent away from mates and other hobbys etc.

so what i've decided is to give it to the end of the year, i'm not setting a profit target, i'm setting a $ per hour target.

by December 31st 2010 I want to have earnt $6 an hour including rakeback

the sick thing is even with $0 table profits my $383 rakeback & tourney profit means I currently have earnt $4.97 an hour!!

maybe I should revise a higher target?

to achieve this I need to work on my game, both poker wise and mental wise

poker wise I need to study my stats, watch training vids, read articles and post hands on forums

mental wise I need to work on game selection, play when i'm not feeling tired or distracted, stop playing when i feel tilted etc

I'm going to use this blog as a notepad, the side columns will have room for me to make notes on things i think will improve my game, i'm also going to add in more things to monitor my game graphs etc.

if i put all this work in then i should suceed.

following the last post I lost even more money, about $70 before i came second in one of the $3 90 manner KO's i was playing as a relaxation game.....bankroll is now around $760.

so what im doing is not playing tonight, im looking through some hands and reading "treat your poker like a business" which is what i need to do!

when i come back probabaly tomorrow i want to have a plan and some more rules set in my head, i need a clear goal not just jumping on the laptop and playing cos i havent got something to do.

i have around $15 to come in from the syndicate game and ill break my promise and redeposit $100 or so from previous winnings. i want to be back at $1000 for month end ready to resume my withdrawal of winnings plan.

things got a little mental since the last post on the friday following my last post i had a crazy session, at one point my bankroll dipped below $500 before a mental hand occurred where with both of us mega deep with +$150 i hit a flop of 238hh with king 8 hearts, there was no way i was going anywhere even when all the chips were shoved in the middle, the villain had a mega draw with ace 4 hearts but i held and insta quit to end up even for the day

since then ive had a few small cash sessions and won back $100 only to lose $100 playing today, so many times i put the stack in when my instincts are screaming no, really need to work on folding :-(

only bright spot is tourneys three deep runs but out in the 20-30ish position mean im up about $40, obviously the final table is where it turns sweet so i just need that extra step... to be fair the $3.30 KO with 24 left i put all the chips in with J4 on a J410 flop (i was big blind, limped pre) villain had QQ and hit the queen on the river.

other interesting thing is that ive won about $400 playing on my stake at paddypower, i have taken $150 from my $200 share and padded the bankroll up, in my figures i have put this as a redeposit so my withdrawn figure is now $400 even though its still $580. i want my figures here to reflect the actual full tilt profit.

here as figures table profit has slipped from $600 to $180, a lot of work to do on improving my game.

i know people will think that im tilting it away but im not, ive stayed within my bankroll limits and ive stayed sober :-)

trouble us im running like shit, running so bad, a 40 buyin roll is not enough. at present my bankroll is $670, i refuse to deposit any money that has been withdrawn already, the $150 i put back on was actualy money won from a different site under my stake but i dont want to include this in my figures. i might ban myself on full tilt and play on my stake to drum up some funds - who knows.

just had a session at $50 rush and lost $70 so that makes it $270 straight lost...bankroll is down to $720 so ill probably redeposit $150 from the $300 of withdrawals I made in the last week, will just have to grind it back up, losing is part of the game, it is how you react to losing which is so important

the figures show $5 lost in tourneys but this is not strictly true, i entered a $5 scheduled MTT as the last game of my RTR syndicate, it was only around 160 runners but still final tabling was nice and my 7th saw me send $29 to the collective prizepool, not sure how much of a return we will get as i think we are not showing a profit.

Mrs is out tonight and taking the baby, only for a couple of hours but means i can have a good session, will probably 16 table the $25 full ring...hopefully i can have an upswing and get me upto the path to $1000.

i was thinking this morning about how well poker had been going, yesterday was pretty much a brag post and it did not include an evening win of about $70 and another withdrawal which made it $680 withdrawn since 1st of July.

Today though my demons returned....I played a 4 table rush session was not really focusing and basically i can break it down in a timeline of shit

10 mins in...i have KQ with queen of diamonds, it gets raised to 75c and i call.. flop is Jxx2 diamonds bloke checks i check, turn is 3rd diamond, bloke checks i bet $1.50 he calls.... river queen of spades he checks i bet $4 he re-raises all in only another $3... i have to call and he has a slow played nut flush. fair one.

1 min later.... i have 99 for some reason i limp, flop 847 i bet pot villain calls, turn ace, i bet $1.75 villain min raises, i should fold? i call. river 8 villain shoves for $5 i call even though i dont beat anything - he has quad 8's

when i laid out my plans for the month I thought I would aim for about 30k hands a month, today i'm a 3rd of the way through the month and ive done 2600 hands.

I just cannot motivate myself to play, footie manager & TV and chilling with a beer seems like a more plausible option.

Only benefit is that i cant stop winning, in less than 1000 hands at $50 headsup and $50 rush ive won $340, in 1600 hands of $25 ive lost $4 - you cant make this shit up.

Hopefully as the football season has started up i might get some motivation to drink less and try and get my arse in shape, at the age of 28 i should still be able to motor up and down the wing, with my team being relegated last year there is a real possibilty of some glory at the lower level!

anyway figs look impressive, $580 withdrawn, unfortunetly a lot of this has not gone to debt clearance and has gone to household...ah well figs as follows

last night i went out for dinner and upon return did not really fancy playing poker, i had consumed a few vodkas and knew that a lengthy session wouldnt be a good idea, what was a good idea though would be step up a level to $50 rush and play for 15 minutes or so to generate 50 full tilt points... the plan was play tight and wait for spots with real value, or summit....as it turns out i won $83 in the short session, I sucked out with all in preflop, I had QQ on the button, big blind had KK, no getting away there but luckily queen on the flop... won a couple of other nice hands, hit a set with 66 and got paid off by AJ who turned two pair.. no significant losses the worst being this hand

I’ve had a Good Start to the month. Didn’t play Sunday as I was hungover from a stag do but I’ve played a couple of short sessions and won $90 at a mixture of Rush and Headsup.

I’ve made an early withdrawal my account needs money to cover birthdays and a few things, bit annoying as my winnings are meant to be paying off my credit card but what can you do if the family bank account has no money in it!!

Have been playing the odd lunctime sess and after a horrible month last month where I paid out nearly £150 I have recovered this month and im £200 up in 3 games, quite astonishing how much trouble we get into with a pot limit game with blinds at 10p/20p!!

Biggest hand of the day was when I had AK10J rainbow, HughDiago who was tilting and losing made a standard raise and I did a very rare 3bet, Hugh and Mug called… flop came K10Q rainbow – nice, Hugh bets I re-raise Hugh calls, turn is 7 and a second club, Hugh bets out and I reraises £18, hugh calls again but folds my blank river bet of £42… turns out he had Q10 with two clubs…

Anyway bankroll is $970ish will post a graph probably tomorrow as I don’t think ive done one since my re-attempt at taking this seriously..

Barely played in the last few days of the month and annoyingly only hit Bronze Level of Iron Man when in reality Gold should be what im hitting.

played the $320 freezeout on Ipoker again on my stake but got nowhere near the cash finished 350ish/700 after the most card dead tourney ever.

June as a whole though has to be seen as a success, a profit of near $500 and more importantly no Degening at all.

For July i want to win a bit more at the tables and not rely on Rakeback and Bonuses, i'll probabaly need to set myself a hands target to give me motivation to play though.

last night i went down the rendevous casino in Brighton Marina with my dad and a couple of mates for the £55 + 1 rebuy or add-on, my dad staked me as its a bit pricey for a donk like me.

quite a small turnout, started with 35 but ended yp with 48 runners, bit strange seeing a poker room with 14 tables only using 5 of them but to be fair it is a nice setup and im glad its not self dealt any more.

Tourney was a pile of crap, previously i had come 5th for £260 without rebuying but this time i had to rebuy midway through the third level. i had lost half my starting of 5k with raises with 1010, 77 and ace10 which all missed and with 4 callers there aint a lot i can do on the flop.

so pretty much from that point i was shorstacked with 5k ish and i hung on for ages waiting for a spot, when the blinds hit 300/600 with antes of 50 i had to just shove, i got about 3 of them through but it was impossible to find a spot, my table had 3 old guys who would raise or call everything preflop. eventually i bust about 27ish when i shove QK UTG, someone wakes up with AK GG.

one funny spot was that this yound mouthy kiddy won a big pot and slowrolled the guy, he had a decent stack and announced that he was going to "Iron the table out" next hand he's pushed the button and gets called his 88 gets outflopped by AK he then pushes with A10 into AQ and straight after that he shoves blind utg and his J4 doesnt hit a miracle - he started swearing and said he only wants to play the cash game - yeah right!!

after this my dad was still in so i regged for the £100 minimum buy-in cash game, £2/£2 blinds with optional straddle of £5 and one round of hold'em one round of Omaha, most people had £200 to £400 so i just had to sit tight, good tactic though as everytime i raised in position and they called pre and checked the flop i could fire £10-£15 and take down the pot.

one hand of note was i have 99, i raise pre to £7 flop comes 1095 with two clubs, bloke bets £7 so i re-raise to £17 and he calls, turn is the ace of clubs he checks and i get a .little worried of the flush and check, river is the case 9, bloke fires out £22, i try my best to act but as soon as i raise another £35 he folds - damn.

end up £29 up after paying the £8 dealer charge for the hour.

online has been ok, think i have around $980 in my account but i havent played since Tuesday.

might be playing the $60k guarenteed on ipoker tonight on a stake, will report if i ship!

so close but so far... 242/690 in the big tourney my QQ was all in 3 ways againts 34suited and ace 9... this deep into a tourney and people are shoving that crap!

if the hand held i was top 30 with top 80 getting minimum $500.

in the $42k guaranteed i finsihed 550/4000 odd, bluffed off a 20bb stack hoping to represent the flush with four diamonds out but matey made a brave/good/gay call with his AJ no diamonds but ot be fair he did have trips.....

wow real positive day yesterday, I started off with 2 quick 15 minute sessions at Rush Poker and won around $45 mainly due to a couple of nice hands, one AA>KK preflop and another where i held 44 and got it in on a 4557 board 3 ways against 56 and QQ and i held.

Anyway's I stopped there and had a few drinks watching telly with the mrs before she went to bed when I stuck on some shows of my own, now I didnt feel pissed so I logged on and did some microstakes tourneys coming nowhere, I then fired up 1 table of $50 rush and said to myself that if my bankroll dipped below $1030 i'd stop, i lost a few dollars and was on the verge of quitting when again i get aces against kings and it holds again for a nice $70 pot a he wasnt full stacked.

I then go bum hunting the headsup tables, telling myself i must quit if i lose a stack as plenty of times in the past i double someone up, tilt and end up losing loads of money.

so searching the tables I find someone siting with $20 and jump on and he was terrible!! he called every raise preflop and seemed to hang on in every pot, after the 3rd stacking in quick time I felt a bit guilty so I typed in mate you shouldnt be playing 36 off suit in a raised pot and he started asking me advice on how to play!! asking about my experience etc!! i gave him a few pointers but still stacked him 2 more times before i had to quit as my daughter woke up crying. In a way i felt relieved as the money seemed a bit to easy, does anyone ever feel this way? guilty after winning?

i ended up $160 up for the day an ive withdrawn $200 as the first withdrawals towards my debt repayments - £130 down £870 to go!

Last year the poker community all went a bit nuts when Phil Ivey final table the main event, this year Ivey is out but a true legen in Johhny Chan has top 10 chips with around 200 players left. How awesome would it be if Chan could final table and have a shot at a record 3rd world title? tempted to put some money on him with a second shout to Johnny Lodden who is a decent high stakes pro.

did not play much yesterday but managed to recoup around $40 of the $60 lost, played a real bad hand headsup which went as follows, I raise 75dd on the button and big blind calls, flop comes 5910 with 1 diamond, bloke bets around $2.50 i raise to $6 bloke calls, turn is 9 diamonds, bloke bets $10 and i shove with my 1 pair and flush draw, bloke insta calls with kings but i suck out with a diamond river. the pot was about $50ish and i was all in with not a lot of outs and there was no way he would fold for so little.

ah well bankroll now $815, my rush poker today should see me clear another $20 of the bonus, think im nearly done with completing it.

tonight I decided to play some rush poker because of the rush poker promo, was pretty happy to clear the 100 points and earn $50 profit, shame ive just gone back on and lost it all back plus an another $5. Rush Poker = Swings.

only bright spot for me is winning a heads up game which was part of the RTR team challenge, hopefully ill do myself justice in the final which i am now the first qualifier for.

so bankroll is $814, real sad stuff seeing. only bright spot is that if i can maintain even a breakeven level at rush poker for the week ill get the $50 rush poker bonus, probably another $40 off my bonus and rakeback on top. i really want to be on $1000 by month end.

so its been a week already, ive played around 9k hands at mainly $25nl full ring and $50 heads-up and have just started to touch onto $25 rush poker.

postives have to be my heads-up results, achieving a decent volume and showing a profit albeit mainly due to rakeback/bonus

negatives are bad sessions at $25nl, espeically stacking of near 300bb's in one pot when i misread my hand.

big positive is not playing Omaha in any form or chasing losses at higher limits.

think i need to blog every day, best way to keep track of my results i think... had a session yesterday where the bankroll hit a high of $1025 and i was absolutely gutted to finish on $885, however last time i blogged on Monday i was on $940 so only really lost a couple of buyins i guess...

anyway onto yesterdays loss, i won some decent money heads-up in the morning and Monday night but when i played yesterday i spewed money all over the shop, probably not the best idea to play heads up when watching the footie as you cant get into a rythymn or spot any "tells" in betting timing etc.

i need to cut down on headsup, i may winning so far but there arent enough decent games to play as there are the same regs on all the time, and i do not have the bankroll to be tackling regs with full $50 buyins. i need to stick to my plan of bum hunting people who buy in with a short stack.

so i think ill need to add in $25nl Rush Poker as a game to play if i have half hour spare, its not feasible to play a 16 table session of normal poker as it takes so long to set up the tables and then leave!

quick post just to report all is well, been playing a fair volume, was meant to have a sober session Saturday night and catch the drunks but I had my daughter to look after and she screamed and screamed, I ended the session about $50 down - very disappointing as the games are definitely super soft on Saturdays!

anyway's total profit is $140, i have cleared $20 off my bonus which is nearly complete and I had rakeback of payment of $18 so $178 profit which puts my bankroll on $948.

want to play tonight but mrs is out and I have two daughters still up, so watching family guy and hopeing my 3 year old doesnt catch any of the jokes when she runs in and out!

WTF two big mistakes here first i did not even check his stack I did not realise he was as deep as me, secondly and most importantly I did not check the board, I still thought i had the nuts, had put him on two pair or pair + flush draw so when the board gave a safe card I shoved hoping to look like a bluff - fucking disaster, such a schoolboy mistake. please laugh at me I deserve a mouthful.

so this kinda killed my full ring session and I ended up $155 down, I got stacked 3 more times, one unavoidable as I had 66 on a AJJ6 board but the other two AK losing to KK and KQ losing to AA is pretty poor.

heads up though was a dream 124 hands $201 profit with a nice 162bb/100 - definitely a nice start.

to finish up I made it 8 wins out of 9 in the steps to get a 3rd step 3 ticket - pleased with how these are going.

so pumped up about starting again and exercising some bankroll management, today is the first day where I can only play upto 25c/50c and Omaha can suck my balls although I have said that I would like to play 5c/10c in case I feel a Omaha craving.

If I play over these limits I will lose a bet I have with my mate, only £40 but I don't wanna give him 40p!!

bankroll to start is $770 as I had a little bit of extra profit last week, i also lost a $110 pot with AK to 97dd all in on the turn on a 665Kdd board - river of course 2d.

had a little go this morning and lost $60 in 375 hands of holdem, got stacked with a set of 3's where i could not see villain had hit a gut shot on turn and lost nearly a full stack with aces into a set of queens - standard.
However in just 8 hands of heads-up i won back $48, with game selection the games are so easy, just have to make sure not to play full stacked villains or hands like the AK hand above could hurt my roll.

tonight is the monthly raketherake $30k freeroll, with around 1k runners, alongside that ill play the $32k KO with one of my tokens and maybe 1 or 2 other tourneys (bloggerment maybe)

quite excite about this as i usually play $5 tourneys with smaller prizes, maybe i can get a decent score and start my new challenge on Thursday with $1000 and not $750, would have no idea what i'd do with a 4 figure score, the chance to have a big bankroll vs using the money for household needs.

recently I cashed in all my full tilt points and purchased 7 x Step 1 tickets, for the step 1's i did mainly the Super Turbo 1 tables and was a bit disappointed to only get 3 step 2's. However last night i switched to the 1 table standard turbo's and managed to win 2 out of 3 to get the Step 3 of which ill use as $26 tokens!

the only question i have is what is the rakeback implication for purchasing Step Tickets, obviously the step tickets have a vaule of $3.50 i think, so i got myself $24.5 worth of tickets - how much do you think they'll deduct from my rakeback?

had to make a significant withdrawal last night so roll was down to $650, i could go into how its ludicrous to have to pay £200 for 4 passports for my children, youngest is 2 months but this is a poker blog!!

anyway with next week being the 1st of July and the start of the second year i have decided to go back to the original no more pain poker plan of tying to clear my debt so the aim if to get the roll upto $750 by next week and then play $25nl and small stakes tourneys if i feel like it.

this time to make me stick to the plan i have offered a wager to my mates, basically if i play any stakes higher than 10c/25c full ring or 25c/50c headsup then they win the bet, they can track whether i have broken this rule by going to poker table ratings... also for Omaha i am not allowed to play any stakes higher than 5c/10c and even then i doubt i will bother, thinking about Omaha makes me sick!

if anyone fancies making this wager with me let me know!

i am also thinking about a volume challenge maybe 200k hands before December but im not sure how feasible this is with the baby still not sleeping, ill think about it and let you know later.

had a nice session this morning, daughter woke up late for her feed at 6am, i fed her and put her into my bed with the mrs and decided to check out the tables as they are always a bit fishy early morning UK time, i loaded up my 16 tables and played about 800 hands for a decent $40 win, if i keep this up i might be able to get to a higher starting point for the 1st of July of $750 but we shall see.

No Longer a bankroll challenge and why i cant play Omaha

so last nights crazy hand means i no longer have to scratch around at $10nl, i can go back to my old game of $25nl and selective game of $50 heads-up against shortstacked opponents... the struggle will always be to not tilt and play games over my roll or go on monkey tilt during a session and end up shoving every hand and face card pre flop until i get my senses back.

i also have made a decision to not play Omaha, i just cant lay down hands and suck outs are more frequent which of course brings out my tilt demons.

Playing Poker With A Baby

playing poker against a baby would be easy however since the birth of my daughter playing with a baby is proving to be a real challenge

with my other 3 daughters its easy, i send them to bed at 7pm and if i wanna play poker and the wife doesnt want me i can log on and play cash tourneys whatever.

with my newest daughter its just impossible, she screams, fidgets, i have at times held her whilst i play and she kicks the shit out of me - not a poker fan!!

and when she is asleep normally at 10pm im too knackered to play as she still aint sleeping through the night.

so because of this im really struggling to get any pokering done, and some of the quality of my play is shocking - last night i loaded up about 6 tourneys and didnt cash once, best finishes were two 15th odd places in some 90 manners. luckily my microstakes cash has been going well.

anyone have experiences of playing poker with a baby in the household?

so day 1 of the bankroll challenge was here and i was looking forward to some poker, first off i did the 4th attempt at a score in the $5 RTR syndicate game, i made it an impressive 0 cashes for 4 coming 1000 odd in the $20k turbo, did not get any hands to play and exited with A7 losing to QQ after i got short, i also did a $2 180 manner and was pretty pissed off to go out with 60 left, i was about 6th in chips and the only person who had me covered shoved UTG...i had AK and called figuring he had 66-1010 and AJ or AQ, he did indeed had AQ and when the king hit the river it completed his straight - so frustating. i also did 2 90 man KO's coming nowhere in one and 15th in the other when blind on blind i shoved KJ but couldnt outdraw the BB's 88.

so tourneys out the way i started the bankroll challenge, step 1 was 5 stt's and 5 cash limit poker sessions where i had 250 times the fee or big bet. i did 3 $1 super turbo's figuring it would be easy and didnt cash any of them.

Limit poker was even worse, i made a small $1 profit on the 25c/50c table but lost about $15 on the 50c/$1 table - limit poker is so boring!!!

anyways after all this i scanned headsup tables, obviously i shouldnt be playing these as its above my roll but i dipped in and out of several games, specifically targeting germans, russians and french with less than $25 on the table.

it worked out ok and i turned a $20 loss from the tourneys ad limit poker into a $22 win, plus i had earnt nearly 100 full tilt points which helps towards clearing the bonus. Mrs did not sleep well last night so i assume she will be asleep early meaning i might assault a few big field tourneys tonight!

Betfair turned out to be a bit rubbish, games were soft but software was ugly and i couldnt effectively mulitable despite it boasting that you can 15 table!

so i've decided to have a bit of a bankroll challenge, i'm gonna soley play on Full Tilt and stick to £10nl and Stts/mtts less than $3.

obviously i have said this a million times before but i really plan to stick to it, i will be tracking sessions daily to see how i go

as part of this i have started to do Full Tilt Academy challenges again, the first one is bankroll realted but seems to relate to limit games - oh well Starlight will be happy to see me give it a go!

I cant viably play mainly tournaments as i just dont have the time, Full Tilt Cash and me dont get on so ive decided to move $500 to Betfair Poker as i can get 30% rakeback and a sign-up bonus.

anyone tell me what its like?

ive left $100 on Tilt and have $40 on Stars for randomt tourneys

no real aims for Betfair just grind up the microstakes and see how it goes

On reflection I played pretty well built good stacks but took my eye of the ball, exit hands have been pretty rough AA, KK, AK etc.

Played a little cash play to end up $45 up for the evening but of course I have used my $26 token and a step one ticket.

Next time no drinking and maybe wait until Melina (baby) is sleeping through the night as im shattered and due to be up at 5am for her feed.

today and yesterday i have ventured back onto cash to earn my 50 full tilt points a) for iron man but mainly as i need to clear a bonus by August, I have worked out it takes about 40 minutes at $10 Rush, the play itself has been good and im up $50 over two sessions - not sustainable i know.

i have also ben playing steps, i brought 7 with Full Tilt Points and out of 3 attempts i have won two step 2 tickets and have another crack at step 1 - will be interesting to see how i go.

as for the blog i think ive decided not to say what my bankroll is every post, ill just tally up at month end and see where i am, moving away from constantly checking my roll should hopefully make me more laid back to my results so i can concentrate on quality of play - we shall see.

managed to get a comibnation of a stake from my ever willing dad and managed to sling a few spare pounds back into the roll so im back, only difference is i'm avoiding cash games and im gonna see if i can have a few dedicated tournament nights, i just cannot trust myself on cash tables and the risk is too much.

Luckily i am a complete mtt nit, i never buy into games im not rolled for so hopefully i can get into a groove and ship a decent score.

i have put $100 into Poker Stars and now have a $570 roll on Full Tilt. i did pan for an extensive schedule tonight but its 24's conclusion so im just gonna play the daily dollar, the rake the race freeroll and a $5 game for the RTR syndicate

$200 down at 10c/25c in 2 days, every time i have aces or any overpair i run into a set. if i flop two pair they call and hit a higher two pair. plus when this shit happens i tilt and shove all in every half decent hand for about 30 seconds whilst in a rage. today i finally got called, my $25 re-raise to his 70 cent bet was called by kings. my 7's didnt get there :-0

not sure if this is bad or good but i tilt played $200 nl and won back $90, probably not the best idea.

cant be arsed to update figures but my PTR on the side is soon to hit negative $1k.

as you can probably see by my figures on the side, i had a terrible tilty session since my last post, net affect down $250 which is a quarter of my roll. i wont go into the details ($200 rush NLH) but if i dont keep a lid on my emotions during a session i will never win any money. i have not withdrawn a dime in about two months from my account, its embarassing, Poker Table Ratings has me as a $780 loser, im not even going to defend it.

so June is here and i need some goals to focus

1. Cash Play - 50k hands at 10c/25c No Limit Holdem
2. Cash Play - only play the above! no Omaha, no heads-up.
3. Steps - i have purchased 7 step 1 tickets, i want to turn this into 4 $26 tokens.
4. 90 Man Ko's - play 20 in the month.

thats it simply. i've eyed up a few fames on Ipoker under my stake with my dad, hopefull i can win some to replenish my bankroll.

this month i need to really get a lid on my emotions and fucking grind out a win of some description.
