just been working at my dads place, we normally play some poker together and he told me to play the $2 rebuy MTT whilst he went to the gym.... after 4 hours of play im 11/25 (300 runners) and have to leave, i tell my dad to coast along, point out the week players and for him to ring me later, i get home fire up the laptop and he is 18/20 with 9k chips somehow losing 41k chips in 5 mins, in fact hes busted 19th.....

was hoping for him to win the $500 or so first prize and chop with him but ah well..

poker will return for me on Wednesday

im done, was upto $850 and looking at recovering with an estimated $50 rakeback payment due Friday, a bit of solid play and ill be back to $1000 in a week.

however too stupid stupid sessions and now I have $550, i reckon ive done about $800 minimum with the majority at the $25 buyin level at either Rush Omaha or No Limit Full Ring.

At one point when i was down to $700 i was thinking about just withdrawing it all and quitting, now ive just self banned till 1st May it'll give me over a week to think things through, options are.

Redeposit and carry on
drop down to $10 level and carry on
withdraw a chunk and start a new challenge
withdraw it all

im so disappointed and frustrated, any suggestions please let me know, ill be back on 1st May

Bad first day

damn what a load of shit.

Rush Poker lost over 10 buyins in not even 1000 hands, not sure what happened but i think ill have to give the game a miss until i've done some studying and schooling and a lower stake...Holdem didnt fare much better down about $50 over a serious session of 2000 hands, felt as if I was playing ok but made a few bad moves and of course some suck outs which had me on the verge of a mental breakdown!!

bankroll is about $775, im determined to grind through this, i aint hiding, giving up or whatever tonight im back on - i will avoid Rush Omaha for now though :-)

Year Starts Tomorrow

been back on Full Tilt for about a week and have been playing like shit, jumped straight back in 16 tabling $25nl and couldnt cope, was bluffing, overplaying pocket pairs and letting tilt get in my game.

Even worse one of the games which caused me to lose a wedge last time Pot Limit Omaha headsup lured me in and i lost a wedge there too!

all in all ive lost about $300 which means the profit from Bet Most which I wanted to buy a nice watch with has had to be redeposited, bankroll as always is $1000.

moving forward I will be aiming for 30k hands at $25nl full Ring and or Pot Limit Omaha Rush style, got to avoid headsup play...moving forward I think ill probably aim for 20 of the $3 90 manners to see what kind win rate I can build.

gonna aim for daily blogging as i find that when i dont blog i get lazy and it creeps into my game, blogging encourages me to play well.

ordered a few books, Pot Limit Omaha the Big Play and the Poker Blueprint, ill give reviews of these soon.

im moving back to Full Tilt permanentely, aside from the cock up over my VIP deal which i wont go into i just find the site so frustrating, things i dont like

software is ugly
hard to play more than 5-6 tables
poker tracker stats dont attached themselves to the correct seats
not a great variety of tournaments
not much traffic outside of peak hours
no self exlusion if i wanna drink

the only things i did like was the potential deal which i didnt get, the softness (i was up £270 in 2 weeks of barely playing) and the fact you had 10c/20c heads up tables

just waiting for the withdrawal to come through, will be starting afresh with $1000 starting and will come up with a new target for year end and will refresh the blog a bit.

What Hope Have I Got?

no real poker news as my Betmost account is still inactive, i have been offered a small stake of the $3 90 manners on FT but have only managed 5 games out of the 12 thus far, i will report on them when finished.

as to the subject title, i'm a little worried, i have shown degen tendencies and it is so obvious they are inherited, my dad is the nicest, funniest, most generous blokes you'll ever meet, the trouble is he carries on these traits on the poker tables.

He is passive, gives his money away and plays like a joke.

he asks me for help and i watch him play all the time, but he ignores me when i say fold ace 3 off suit (he likes aces) fold queen 8 suited under the gun (ill fold if some one raises)

AND HE NEVER RAISES, IT TILTS ME SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!

he limps every hand!! think his stats are like 50/2

anyways, he also loves a drink which is summit i share. Last night he took me wifey and one of the kids (other 2 with their dad) out for dinner, he was pretty wasted on Whiskeys and had the option of going to the pub or going home. he stated ill go home but not play poker, ill just get wasted and watch a film.

he picks me up this morning as i help him with his accounts on saturdays and he tells me half solemenly half proud in a way - i lost £700 drunk last night!! pisses me off so much, he has no respect for money, he may well earn a fair bit but its no excuse.
