February Review

a real swingy month at the cash tables and at the end of I have achieved my monthly target of $300 but at a real poor winrate, variance has been a bugger and some of the recent session's ive played have been sick, Friday night was the best example, 4600 hands and at one point $190 down before finishing $10 down - my graph tells the story best - win rate is terrible tho!



however one thing im pleased at is my passion for the game is still there, before a loss would tilt me and i'd either blow my bankroll or just avoid the tables full stop, however now im willing to play whenever I can as volume is the key to success - especially when rakeback is a huge chunk of my profit!

managed to recover a bit since last post, bankroll was $1100 last night so managed to make a withdrawal... tonight for probably the last night my wife is working and im gonna have a Friday night with no drink, a lot of music and a lot of poker!

aim is simply to grind 500 Full Tilt Points which is roughly 4k-5k hands, no real aims on profit but if I get to $100 up at some point ill quit.

2010 catchup

just wanted to check how how was doing ahead of me meeting a few mates tomorrow as they're always asking how its going, probably as i bump off numerous nights out for poker I guess!

really only wanna go over my No Limit cashplay and rakeback as this is the main focus of my play..Rush Omaha and tourneys are an occasional distraction!

so far i have played 49k hands, over 1k hands a day... cant really argue with this volume, profit is $472 which only works out as 1.5bb 100 and this is quite low i guess so i need to aim for this to be a bit higher, not sure if any other grinders at this level wanna share there win rate with me? i do play a lot of tables which definitely does lower my winrate but i reckon my hourly is ok... cashplay $472 +$228 rakeback divided by 62 hours = $11.60 an hour not a bad winrate for a microstakes player?



i've mad 3 withdrawals this week, was set to make another as was $9 away from $1100 but then got stacked by ace jack when I had kings on a jack high flop - gay

Back on Track

been putting in a bit of volume since Tuesday's mess and Wednesdays day off....about 4.5k hands plus a further 2k hands at my dads factory on Saturday has seen me go from $850 to $1070, my biggest weekly rakeback payment of $58 helped in this matter!! have been running under EV as well and I have found it hard accepting some beats but its soemthing im working on and Im so much better at it than I used to be!



anyways its valentines, im married and kids are off to their aunties so I gotta go.

played a lunchtime game with my workmates, 3 handed dealers choice and boy did I get raped... first hand I have 8875 and flop comes A82dd, I check raise Mug an extra £6.50 and he tanks and actually says I think you have 88.... he then says I have outs and and calls.... turn is another Ace...great he checks insta quick...fuck i put him on ace 2...river is a black and he bets £6 into £20...I hate calling but he could have AK so i call.he has ace 8. I do brick a £50 pot calling with top two pair and straight draw against trips and then this sick hand happens.

I'm tilting a bit so announce ill raise blind...I raise to 60p, i get reraise to £1.80... i have to look now and spot KQJ7 Double Suited... i reraise another £5 and get called.

now take a look at the flop and the equity... i get it all in as 70% favourite - obviously it comes two low red cards.



on the plus side i did hit a runner runner full house against trips and hit 4 of a kind but these were small pots and i ended up £60ish down - pay day is not till March 20th tho so plenty of time for the sick live variance to calm down

Online variance has been bad as well though... just done a load of hands and ran $60 below EV losing with AA > KK for $50 pot and AA > A10 for a $21 pot...somehow ended up $28 so hopefully be upto $1000 again at some point over the weekend.

Oops I did it again

so it only took me a little over a month, the obsession had been growing and with some recent losses I could see what happened coming.

sessions have been getting longer, ill play whether there are distractions or not, ill play with a can or 2 in my hand.

drink and poker has been my ultimate downfall since this blog began. I have decimated bankrolls on numerous times. Last night I had a decent session and stopped $42 up. I played Footie Manager and watched TV, I had a few cans.

I went back on and played poker, initally 16 tabling 10nl where I couldnt lose a lot? I lost $45. I went on heads-up $50. I won the money back. then I lost it and another $50.

I then found someone sitting with $140 on a $2-$2 heads up table - he must be a donk the drink was telling me. he raises my big blind first hand i have Ace 4.... flop comes with an ace, i check raise him all in - he has ace jack.

luckily I quit with a $200 loss overall, $300 down for the week.

I will have to redivert my last withdrawal to the bankroll, winnings for the year are a paltry $70 - 35000 hands and $70 to show for it.

on the plus side i guess im still ahead of my intial schedule as i have had rakeback and a bonus plus tourney wins, i have no added my daily goal achieved and target to go into my figs on the side.

much needed day off today, will transfer my bankroll somewhere safe, something i should of done last night.

Month 2 Week 1 Review

I was planning on playing a session tonight but having watch Arsenal blow another big game i have decided im not in the mood, any kind of bad beat is liable to make me headbutt the cat or similar.

so ive decided to check how ive done this week - looks good, im ahead of the weeks target and a good deal of rakeback to come, i have earnt 100+ full tilt points every day except the day off Monday and look good for Silver Iron Man minimum.

also it seems that im winning the majority of sessions, and a its good to no that a losing session can be recovered quickly.




at the moment ive registered for the $5 FTOPS turbo warmup, 28k runners at the moment, that will be my only poker for tonight, once im done ill play some footie manager and watch terrible tv.

A Bad Day

and not a hand of poker played yet... been at work and first off all my mrs rings me to tell me that she has to go to hospital as the baby is giving her pains, turns out the little devil is trying to get out early even though she aint due till May.... hopefully with some drugs she will give up her escape plan.

Then this afternoon the mrs texts me basically saying the Balliffs have written sayong we owe them £1200 and they're coming round tomorrow to get the cash or goods.... little fuckers there hasnt been a court case or anything and basically its just an unpaid council tax bill which we have been paying monthly for. they havent got the right to take anything, luckily my mrs phoned her local MP LOL who has sorted it all out.

Shouldnt really play poker today as in a total bad mood but F it.

January Review

so the month is over and targets have been smashed, im $1107 up for the month with the aim to be $300 achived easily!

however being realistic, im not gonna be winning at the casino most months as I don't go out, im not gonna be winning online tourneys as i maybe play 10 a month and I certainly wont be having $175 bonuses each month either! taking all these away my cash play and rakeback was +$366 so just above target but the win rate was only 2bb/100 which I think I need to increase.






for the month ahead i have qualified for some free Stoxpoker and Cardrunners training so im gonna have a brush up on my game and really work at improving my win rate, aim for the month will be a small increase to 3bb/100 and 30k hands - i really should get Silver Iron man instead of bronze as theres no excuse to not play for 30 minutes to bang out 50 full tilt points on most days

bankroll $1027, ill be conitnuing to withdraw $100 as an when i reach $1100 - this debt needs to be cleared!
