2009 has been my first year at blogging, it has been a great help to get down my results, thoughts plans and seen a gradual development.
Over the course of the year there has been several highs and crushing lows, the definite highlight has been the $2k win in the daily dollar, the lows has been the 3 or 4 times I have lost $400-$600 in tilted drunken messes.
The upside of all this is that I think I have grown out of this destructive behavior, I have arrangements in place that if im getting drunk that I transfer my bankroll to a mate so that I cannot be in a position to lose the plot. This may seem stupid and childish but inside of me there is definitely a degenerate gambler, I have probably lost about £1000 playing blackjack over the years which is why I have deposit limits on every poker site and casino so that I cannot deposit and lose money on gambling.
This year is definitely the first year that I have stuck to one poker site almost exclusively, I have a bankroll and I don’t need to deposit amounts here and there on different sites to play a game.
2009 has seen me become almost exclusively a cash game player, I have moved from 4 tabling tourneys to at present 16 tabling $25nl full ring tables and playing $50 heads up when I spot an opportunity, my $25 full ring game is flawed and 2010 is where I hop to work on the game.
Anyways, this blog post is getting a bit over the place so im going to move onto 2010 goals.
I have one main goal and its real simple, I owe currently £900 on my credit card and about £800 on my overdraft, most of this is wedding related but I reckon a good £300 or so is old gambling debts that I have never paid off – with interst I reckon it will take £2000 to clear.
Therefore my aim is to make £3400 (£200) from poker in 2010…. I have my tried and tested start point of $750 and after getting to $1000 I will withdraw all profit in $100 increments….i think this is definitely an achievable goal, I just need to avoid any blow-ups, learn to embrace variance and not spazz out after losing a stack and get in a load of volume, bonuses and rakeback will all help me achive my goal
Be nice to maybe take down a donkament or 2 to get there quicker!!
Anyways will definitely take a break till the 1st January, by then ill be starting the new year with a $150 Iron Man Bonus.
* total idiot, i lost $100 last night went on super tilt when someone called all in heads up with 47 on a 79J back and hit a 4 on the river for 2 pair.
no problems just means start point will be $650 and likely that Jan will be spent grinding up to $100, withdrawals hopefully from February onwards!
Bankroll $650 debt to clear £3400.
No More Tilt. No More Playing Outside the Roll. No More Shouting at Loved Ones after a bad beat. No More Sleepless Nights. NO MORE PAIN!!!!

Break till 2010
been running pretty bad online , lost probably about a quarter of the bankroll and even after putting a little back on my bankroll is still fairly miserable at $660.
just have no motivation or desire to want to play at the moment, the mrs is off work so i dont have the quiet time to play and even when she was out I play for half hour and get bored/restless and tilt so easily, i played a rare Saturday night session last night and the tables were so soft, trouble is that i was getting sucked out so much i was losing and tilting like a madman.
best thing i think is to just put poker on the backburner and enjoy xmas.
ill see you at the tables in 2010.
merry xmas all.

Week 2
A small break from blogging as it seems my company is cracking down on internet useage, they have seen my blog being accessed every day and categorised it as gambling which goes on the banned list! Definitely means I will blog less as I am a lazy tool who will write a blog post at work but not on his own time – im actually writing this at work now and emailing it home where ill just copy and paste after adding the graph and stats.
Last week has been disappointing poker wise, I lost $120 or so on the Monday and spent the rest of the week winning it back… come Saturday twice I had won it back getting to the $900 mark before losing a couple of bigish hands which I couldn’t get away from.
Last night was my monthly freeroll through rakebrain (links up side), very very strange event, normally people who have qualified will register manually and you have about 300 people fighting for the $5k spread over 90 paying places… yesterday was utter madness everyone who has qualified was automatically registered…. first table I have a full table of sitouts and im raising every pot stealing the blinds.. this lasts for 50 hands before im frustatingly moved.. the next table has 2 other active players, I was tempted to strike a deal in the chat box but seeing as they both went all in against either other with a straight draw which hit for a straight and a split pot I decided to try and bust them.
Sure enough within 20 hands I dispose of one luckily with A4 on a AK10 flop…villain has K10 but I hit runner runner flush…. 2nd person tries sem bluffing a gut-shot into my two pair which holds.
From then on I am top 10 all the way till the bubble burst…. I then get a bit reckless as I had been drinking and eventually bust around the 50th mark when I get called blind on blind my ace 9 losing to ace 2.
All that work for $13.50 – barely worth it!!
Especially as I use that and the other $10 I had left in my bankroll (I had transferred the rest to a safe place as I knew I was drinking) to shortstack a $100 cash table and lose after about 5 hands
Not really sure how much ill play this week, I just don’t seem in the mood at the moment and hate forcing myself to play just to hit 50 points a day, hopefully get to play a birthday live game Saturday which should be a laugh.
Bankroll is now $830

Bum Hunting
last night was a much needed winning session but it did not really feel satisfying... i did a fairly decent grind of about 700 hands at $25nl and lost about $4, only hand i can remember is getting it in preflop with AK against two half stackers with $10 each, one had QQ the other K10... King on the flop, 10 on the river - standard.
i took a little break and loaded up footie manager as im well into my game at the moment, but i left the poker client open, in between games on FM I holidayed through the weeks and i used this time to look through the heads up tables looking for people with less than $20, every time i found one i'd sit down and within 10 hands i would figure out if they were worth playing, if they seemed ok i left with my tail between my legs.
so here lies the problem, i won about $50 over the 200 hands or so i played but the feeling that im avoiding the good players made it seem like a hollow victory, i feel like such a pussy scrolling through the tables thinking dont play him, he's too good etc etc.
any thoughts on this? do you guys table select this much? do you leave the table if people start 3 betting and floating on flops and firing out bets on the turn? or do you man up and play through trying to work out who to beat the players?
i guess thats where im annopyed with myself, i should be working out how to beat the players and playing challenging games?!
bankroll $840

Stop Loss invoked Again
damn, lost $120 last night dont want to turn this into a bad beat post but KK lost to AJ for $50 and AA lost to Q4 for $100 - my own fault on the 2nd hands in a way for letting them catch up and turn it basically into a flip.
Bankroll $780 - some work to be done!!

Week 1 Review
a winning week but half my profit has come from a drunken session and i have not been playing well at my usual $25nl Full Ring games.
had to evoke my stop loss yeterday as i was $100 down heads up when i played too agressive at a person who wasnt folding, logic dictated i should of stuck around to stack him but the stop loss is there for a reason.
i have withdrawn $100, i said i wasnt going to till i reached $1500 but i needed money to cover not going to work Saturday morning and im out in town Friday for a works do and need money for drinks!!
aiming for a sick grind tonight as the mrs is off to London to watch the saturdays, hopefully she'll take some pictures!

Supernit to Superdrunk
my head hurts.... awful feeling this morning knowing that I got battered and was playing on my Full Tilt account, normally if im drinking I transfer my bankroll to a mate but he was out on a xmas do and likely to play drunk when he got in!!
anyways, ill start from the top of the night.... I settled down for the $100 rebuy event and also played a $10 1000+ mtt on the side, I was watching the Poker Millio final which i had a vested interest in as I had £10 on FullFlush at 3-1.
I basically played like a super tight bastard in both tourneys, I came 400ish in the $10 game, in the big game i was so tight and card dead im sure my opponents thought i was sitting out.... i didnt even see a flop till about 30 hands in!!
in the end i only played 2 hands, a double up with A8 before the break, and then my exit hand.... i have 2200 with blinds at 100/200, someone raises to 600 and i gets round to me in the cutoff, the bloke has an average stack of 4000ish so i reckon he will fold to my shove...i shove with QK and he calls with J10hearts and rivers a flush.... i finish 1000/1600... grrrr the pot would of put me in the 400 mark with some room to play... anyway, that happens and i do a few super turbo 45 manners coming 6th in one to break even... Full Flush gets bounced in 3rd in Poker Million and i open a bottle of wine and play heads up poker!
i was up about $130 and then lost a big hand...my last memory of the night is cursing as im looking at my results in Poker Tracker and i was very worried when i logged on this morning...
LOL!!! bit naughty playing $100 heads up, but that is tame to previous drunken messes... a few hands, not pretty stuff at all, apart from the end one!!

ECOOP V Event 12
Playing in a big tourney by my standards tonight, the $100 rebuy which is part of ECOOP V.... my dad won the entry but cant play in the event so he's asked me to give it a shot... not too confident, especially as we satetelited into it and he said i can only rebuy once... hoepfully will pick up some cards early so i have a safe stack to get into the money!!
it starts tonight at 8pm and ill write up a report tomorrow.
Cash has been ok, been losing at $25nl but only down 2 buyins over about 2k hands, at the same time im up 2 buying at $50 heads up.
bankroll a healthy $837 with rakeback to come tomorrow.

Titan Poker is Fish Filled
went on early doors, lost about $20 playing my usual grind, not feeling to confident at the mo... as i knew i was hitting the drink to watch Arsenal later i transferred my bankroll to a mate so i couldnt go on later and have a drunken gamble.
watched the game had a few cans and guess what i fancied a gamble... i rembered i had $22 on Titan so i logged onto a 25 euro table with about half a stack and this happens....
Nice. if you fancy playing against people who call bets with bottom pair then use the sign up links on the side.

1st Day = Routine Day
So day 1 was completed and it ran like such a typical day for me...
I logged on at about 7pm with two of the kids in bed and the wife working in the other room and with my youngest running all over the house doing what she wanted!!
the aim was to bang out 100 Full Tilt points so i 12 tabled $25 full ring for an hour, listening to music on the tv to get me in a rythmn and the session ended an hour later with a loss of $11 - this was mainly due to 2 stupid misclicks, first hand blind on blind i want to bet $1 with bottom pair on the flop and somehow manage to end up betting $9 into the $1 pot.... big blind thinks then shoves for $20 later claiming to have top pair.... a bit later on im embroiled in a hand at the bottom of my screen and see that i have KQ suited on a table up top on the big blind so click call... whoops a dirty slag shortstacker has pushed all in for $5 and im calling that not 25 cents, even worse he has AK.
I also ran $12 under EV but thats to be expected.
anyways keeping in mind of completing 4 Acamdemy Challenges i notice i have a couple of tasks left in my bankroll managment one... i have to do 5 stts and one mtt which cost less than 2% off my bankroll - easily done i register for 6 $1 super turbos winning one for a $3 loss which only took 20 minutes.
at this point i have lost $14 but have cleared $10 of my holiday hundred and decide to log off, the mrs is still beavering away so i stick on Footie Manager and watch some Tv with a couple of tins.... a couple of hours later ive got promoted at the 4th attempt with Lancing in County Div 2 and have drunk 4 cans of Strongbow..
Feeling a little brave and bored i head to the $50 heads up tables and search for the dirty shortstackers who stack off with A3 preflop.... 100 hands later ive won $60 and the day seems right again...
all in all such a standard day, i grind at the $25 and eithr win or lose a minsicule amount for pathetic bb/100... i then go on later semi drunk and crush the bad players for a good win-rate, be interesting to see how this pans out and whether the trend continues, i really want to be winning from my sober bread and butter games not relying on finding drunks at heads up!!
ah well profit is profit and i have a $802 bankroll

New Month - New Grind
So December is here and Novembers lean month is over, i amd fresh after taking 3 days off and looking forward to the grind.
Bankroll is $750 and my initial target is to double this and then withdraw $500, i will record my daily results and keep track of rakeback bonuses etc, i want to do one of the those target graph things that a few blogs have - if anyone can help with the coding let me know.
Have some non profit/bankroll related goals this month, first i want to get to Gold Status on Ironman, Silver is redic easy as its basically 20 minutes a day for 25 days so i think i can play a bit more and move up a level, also iron man related is i want to earn a point every day to qualify for the 1 a day freeroll. finally i want to do at least 4 academy challenges this month, looking at it there are some decent things you can buy in the store and if youre a playing a decent volume you might as well register for the challenges and take advantage.
i will update my gagdets on the side to show these challenges.
bit of a rubbish post but i havent played for a few days, will post daily on results which may be a bit boring but i need to keep track and keep focused on my goals, maybe if i know i have to post the sessions results means i wont stack off with ace 9 on a 9 high board.
Bankroll $750.

Record RPT Pot
wow just finished a quick lunchtime game which ended with the biggest pot in the history of our game.... the hand was between me and Hugh (his nickname BTW) and would be the 3rd big hand between us...
1st hand is hold'em and Hugh raises preflop to 60p and re-raise pot to £2 with 84cc, i decide in my mind to check raise bluff any flop... flop comes down J92ccc flopping me the flush, i change my mind and lead out for £1.50 and get re-raised to £4, i decide to slow play and flat call... turn is a non club 8 so i lead out £3 ad Hugh calls, river is blank and i bet £2 to which Hugh re-raises £10 all in and i of course call, High has ace high no clubs for a bluff, he had correctly read me as being full of shit preflop but couldnt believe i had a monster!!
2nd hand is pretty bad, i 3 bet pot preflop with 94dd flop comes 833 wih two diamonds and i call a big bet, turn is a non diamond 9 at this point there is about £10 in there so when Hugh bets pot i feel i have to stick it in (extra£11) and run into pocket 10s and i dont hit a miracle diamond or 9 to lose a £40ish pot
so at this point we are 1-1 with us both winning a £40 pot..... last hand of the day and it gets raised and re-raised preflop to £2 and i call with AKK3, flop comes beautiful 10JQ with 2 spades, i have no spades an lead out for £3, Hugh calls, turn is 7 of diamonds, i still have the nuts, so bet £6, Hugh calls, river is the 8 of clubs, i have avoided any full house of flush draws... i ponder and bet a healthy £10, Hugh ponders for ages, i start chatting trying to get a call and evetually he re-raises me £20 more!! i pretend to be alarmed and eventually put him all in for his last £14 saying it must be a split pot? he grimaces and flips over QK109 for a lower straight and missed straight flush draw - pot was over £100!!
definitely a bad way to return to work!!

Two Fun Hands
Two Fun hands………
Playing our 3 handed lunchtime cash game today, we had two amusing/interesting hands
1st Hand is pot limit hold’em, I call from the button with 69 off suit and it gets raised from the small blind by Hugh to 60p….Mug the big blind re-raises to £1.80… I fold and here it gets interesting….. we play pot limit and it’s a friendly game and 3bet pots are rare so when Hugh 4 bets the pot another £7 I put him on a monster…. Mug agonise’s for a while and amazingly 5 bets the pot another £16 or so!!... Hugh thinks and thinks and then re-raises Mug for his last £3 and we have a monster pot of over £50..
Now can you guess the hands? AA and KK?? A long way off!! Mug sheepishly says I hope you havent got a pair and flips over pocket 3’s…. Hugh groans and flips over AK? No he has pocket 2’s!!!
Madness!! The board runs out dry and Mug wins with 3’s!!
2nd Hand…
Pot Limit Omaha… I have 7446 it gets raised preflop to 60p we all call as we always do in Omaha…. Flop comes 46K with two diamonds…. I bet £1.00 and get two calls… turn is the 7 of diamonds…I bet out £1.50 to see where I am and get two callers…. Auto lockdown now with the flush out…. River comes an immense 7 of clubs giving me a full house, pot is roughly £7 so I bet £2 and I get insta pot raised by Hugh to £10…. I eventually call muttering only 4 hands beat me…. He has 35 of diamonds for a straight flush.
Live Poker is Rigged!!
Ended up £21 up for the session which may compensate me when I eventually get sacked for having 2 hour lunch breaks!

Update and im gutted about self ban from stars
I have decided its a bit risky to 12 table $25nl with $500 so i have deposited another $50 which i had lying around, im should have hopefully another $100 by the end of the week. with this an any profit/bonus/rakeback i make i should hopefully be at $750 by December start on Tuesday.
from then onwards i will post daily graphs, target graphs etc, try and get my blog discliplined to match a new disclipined era in my poker game.
Also recently i self-banned myself on Poker Stars, basically i didnt want any distractions from Full Tilt.... now it seems the Raise The River Forums have a weekly bloggers game with a low buy-in($5) - rats!! would love to play against teh guys whos blogs i read!
is there anyway to unself ban?!
grr - bankroll is $610

Stake Returned - bankroll decimated
as readers may know my starting bankroll and a "refill" on two occasions when i have gone busto has been provided my my dad who himself is a avid gambler and a recent new addition to online poker.
I estimate these deposits at about $750 with me withdrawing $350 back to him, however this has never been a problem, he is a wealthy bloke and was happy to be paid back whenever.
however this changed Sunday, when i saw him Sunday he was saying that he had lost his $900 betfair poker bankroll, i basically told him that he was stupid and that he needs to tighten up his game and start using bankroll management. His reply was, you can hardly talk - the only reason you have any money online is because i gave you it!!
cheeky bastard, i indeed have benefited from his bankroll loans but each time i have turned his $200 or so into $1000 or so - around about the point i was at on Sunday when we had our disagreement!!
so with that in mind i withdrew $400 for him leaving me with $500, not ideal but at least this way he cant lay any claim to my account and everything in there is my profit and what i have earnt.
so the bankroll grind starts again, my first target is $750 by month end which is only a week away, once November comes around i will start some new goals.
For all purposes today is day one of poker for me (again!) and hopefully this run there will be no dramas/drunkneess/tilt and most of all i hope i dont need to go cap in hand to my dad!!

Thierry Henry is a nob
Rarely am i still fuming this long after a game, if we've been done, spanked, cheated whatever im normally Philisophical by the next morning.
Maybe as an Arsenal fan im sure whatever we have lost in we'll be back again next season. With the Irish however there isnt a next season, it will be 4 years before the next World Cup and many of our older players will of missed out on there chance to play on the biggest stage - even so with the way seeding works, non qualification will probably mean we are again set as a 3rd seed and will face another tough draw.
Now as an Arsenal fan i am disgusted with Henry, fair enough with the cheating but ot go consoling Dunne and Duff after robing them is rubbing it in, he admits today he handballs but says it wasnt deliberate - bull shit.
he should apologise the the irish fans and supporters.
I played poker after the game by the way.
I only lost $50 so not a total disaster, espcially as i was drinking Bacardi like no tomorrow.
Mrs is working next 3 nights so im staying sober and grinding out a minimum 5k hands, ill report how i do.
Bankroll $960

Still Winning
booked in another $70 profit last, again mainly at heads up, nothing really intersting to report on it, just finding the right players and stacking them, the strategy obviously works as im up $300 from the last 3-4 sessions!
Just finished the last session of our occasional lunchtime pot limit cash game, months profit was £22 which is ok for what it is, however the format of the game may change as recent pots have gone upward of £70 which if you lose one can put you in a foul mood on the return to work!!
bankroll $1015 - back in withdrawal territory!

Full Tilt Holiday Hundred
Loving Full Tilt at the moment, only two months after Take Two they now again are dishing out free monies. Holiday Hundred is what it says, a free $100 as long as you have cleared your initial deposit bonus - no strings attached.
Of course as with all bonues you have to play to release it and each $10 increment is released after earning 160 Full Tilt Points.
To opt into the bonus you have to go to requests on teh software and select my bonus offer, and to then check your status click on bonus on the cashier tab and not the promotions tab as before.
Last night i planned on a mammoth 2000 hands session but stopped after 500, the reason being that i was a little tired and had snapped at my daughter for interuppting me cos she needed a drink - not on in my opnion (my behavior not my daughters) so when i reached my 50 full tilt points i logged off and spent some time with her - karma restored.
after she fell asleep i managed to resist the urge to log on and instead watched a couple of epsiodes of the wire, but finally the urge got me and i indulged in some $50 heads up, so many donkeys about and at one stage i had reached the magic $1000 mark again before then tilting like a moneky and going down to $870... the reason i tilted?
hit and runners!! twice I got hit and run and then feeling a bit pissed off i got into a hand where by the river i held A7 on a 8892Q board, my $20 pot river bet got snapped off by pocket 7's and i lost the plot, 2 hands later im calling, yes calling a $30 bet with A6 on a 3454 board hoping to hit my meagre outs and.
luckily i calmed down, regrouped and hunted some decent tables, i managed to regroup and the bankroll is $940

im back from Dublin which saw a 3 day break from online poker!! well almost as i did a couple of freerolls yesterday finishing 80/400 in the $5k Full Tilt freeroll for people who have earnt some Full Tilt Acadmy points or summit.
got $20 which takes my bankroll upto a more healthy $935 as i had a couple of decent sessions before i left.
Only downfall to all of this is that i already have missed 4 days of Iron Man this month so i can only afford to miss 1 more day or ill lose my silver status, shouldnt be too much of a problem as it only takes 30 minutes to earn 50 points but if my arm falls off or summit im screwed!!
Dublin was a wicked break, kinda got owned by my 66 year old dad though as come Satruday i was asleep on my uncles sofa at 12am whilst he and everyone else carried on till 3am!! might of been the 8 pints during the day that did me in!! Wicked city for drinking although a little expensive, my wife and sister said the shops are good so maybe an ideal city break for some people.
anyways as stated bankroll $935.

Is Poker Table Ratings Accurate?
i have to admit that my blog has been a bit shit recently, cash blogs are seldom interesting, even more so when its through sensible play and i'm far to lazy to post hand histories mostly.
So today is a bit of a topical post following a discussion with a friend, basically is Poker Table Ratings accurate?
I use it a lot on headsup games, religously checking oppenents as i dont want to be playing proven winning players, recently i had been caned by opponents for my poor record on there and looking at it, is says im $1000 down!!
to be honest i know my record isnt going to be great as i have had a few "rocky" nights to say the least, losing $600 and $400 on occasion in one sitting, however to say i am breakeven for the rest of my 60000 hands logged is incorrect, i would say that i am probably at this moment in time breakeven at cash, in fact i have to be based on my withdrawals and deposits as my profit basically equals my daily dollar win!
the website claims to track 95% of games on Full Tilt but i have found a difference
Looking at my main two games in my poker tracker database i can see the following stats -
Poker tracker $25nl up $170 over 34k hands - Table Ratings $270 up over 30k hands
Poker tracker $50HU $840 up over 10k hands - Table Ratings $233 down over 8k hands
a $1000 difference at $50 heads up games! considering i only really play on my laptop how can they be so different?!
trolling through the forums it seems that there is a problem with headsup games and that it misses tables that you start yourself and also misses the first few hands of games - can anyone verify this? seeing as i bumhunt and stack my shortstacked opponents quickly this would lead to inaccurate data!
so anyway my conclusion is that Poker Table Ratings is accurate for Full Ring games but heads up is a bit sketchy!! still a useful tool though!!
last nights session was good, $85 up over a mix of games, bankroll is now $760, im of to Dublin with my Dad, Wife and sister for the weekend, looking forward to the atmosphere for the Ireland France playoff game, really think the Irish can do it!!

Multitabling
have basically broken even since last post, basically swinging up and down and on the wrong side of variance,no big deal, i have finally accepted that you can have a losing session without finding the urge to play heads up at $200nl to chase a loss.
Recently i have been getting bored with 9 tabling, once i have sped around the screen and folded 5 or 6 hands in 3 seconds it leaves me about 10 seconds for the hands to get dealt again, i have no real need to follow the action closely as i am a complete HUD whore using the stats to help with my decisions and i only really pick patterns off hands that are played against me.
So i know have moved to 12 tabling, and on a laptop this leaves mega overlapping but at the moment i think its working, i can play 1000 hands an hour and seem to be doing ok, i havent really heard of many multitablers amongst the bloggers out there? how many tables do you play? leave a comment!
Bankroll is still not great at $650 but im sure a rush will come and ill get back upto a four figure bankroll soon, need to be relaxed about it and just play decent poker.

Then Forced Down
bad news a further withdrawal is needed as my wifes %5 bonus turns out to be a 0.5% bonus - sick. with us going to Dublin next weekend i've had to take out another $150, this wouldnt be so bad if i was actually winning this month but im not, $150 down which makes my bankroll a meagre $600.
Tempted to make some sports bets but i dont want to fall into a viscious gambling circle.. better to just grind it out and win it back but i need my confidence back first.
poker confidence is a fickle thing, one week im thinking i cant lose but now im not so sure!!
anyways sorry for shit post, could be using this time for grinding but have a major headache.

Moving Up
managed to get back to $800 with some bumhunting at heads up, its been needed as im pretty much break even over 1000 hands at $25nl.
i've decided to do some occasional shot taking at $50nl, i started with 1 table out of my nine and actually lost about $25 mainly do to losing a all in preflop vs a shorstacker, he held ace 8 and i had pocket 9's - standard beat :-(
im doing this as i have been told that the difference between 25 and 50 is neligble and off course rakback and ftps would increase - i think table selection will help and ill make sure there are a couple of droolers on the table!

100th post is negative
Really bad session which could of been a disaster, played some right donkeys heads up but played like a donkey myself - why bluff someone who calls with 5th pair 4 kicker?!
need to regroup and win this back, my rake payment is going to be sick this week so if i can grind out a small profit rest of the week ill probably be even, i've made a withdrawl of $100 and dont need any more so im under no pressure to get back to $1000.
bankroll a sad $725

Another Drunken Tilted Mess
but luckily not me... my mate Mug has been the standard in bankroll management, faithfully playing the $2 stt taking his bankroll from $100 to $240 including several near misses in MTT's.
Friday night he returns from the pub drunk, he opens up a bottle of southern comfort and settles down for sone tourneys
he is enjoying himself and even sends me an email of an intersting hand -
Look at this hand!!

October Month Review
So October has finished and I think its the month that has opened my eyes, since starting this blogging caper earlier in the year i have proved that i am a winning player but with just extremely bad discipline, i would build up a roll to the $700-$1000 region and then Drunk/Tilt a huge chunk of it and have to rebuild.
earlier this month i went one better, I lost my whole roll roughly $700 after tilting and playing heads-up - since then i have not touched my account drunk and touch wood never will again. when i look at my results I have to realise that this is serious business, i can make some decent money and with 3 kids and 1 on the way I need to man up and treat the game with respect.
anyways onto my results, i have not included my drunken nights figures basically i want to look at what i have achieved and use this as my motivation for future months.. i know i still ower $250 to my dad for the stake and that will be paid as and when.
here is my graph
this is made up of
$50NL heads up - 3011 hands, 6.05BB/100, + $185.10
$25NL 6 Max - 32 hands, 26.31BB/100, + $4.21
$25NL FR with antes - 211 hands, 20.37BB/100, +$21.38
$25NL FR - 14,711 hands, 7.31BB/100, +$537.57
poker profit - $745.31
Rakeback - $137.62
October Total - $882.93
November goals is basically the same! I have no intentions of moving up and will withdraw all profits as I have debts which I would rather clear than have money sitting in a poker account...long term once i'm debt free I can try and move up the levels
the only difference i would like is to get some decent MTT results, I have 2 $5000 freerolls through my rakeback provider and im in the FTOPS warm-up on Sunday.... only 50k players to get through for a $25k score lol!
anyway thanks for reading, bankroll is $1000.
*edit just lost about $50 heads up and had to withdraw $50 to cover buying summit.... bankroll now $910
*super edit i rock like rock on x factor - bankroll bank over $1k

Octobers Final Stretch
the month is drawing close and im in the final stretch, have played a fair bit since Wednesday but basically have broke even, howvever rakeback is probably about $15 from these hands so im definitely due to hit $1000 by tomorro's payment.
i probably wont play at all this weekend as Football Manager 2010 is out, a sick game which when i get into takes up a load of my time, i am know to run games with a lower league club from the conference and try to take them up into Europe over games spanning 20-30 seasons.... this years version has leagues down to County Level so i might even play as one of my old clubs Worthing United or Lancing...

Drunk Tourney part III
so the plan as usual was for me and my mate mug to donk around in a few micro buyin MTT's and have a few drinks... the tourneys of choice were a pitiful $1 mtt with 800+ runners and a $2 deepstack again with 800 plus runners. me being a high roller i also registered for a $6 Super Turbo knockout with 1000 runners.
the night was a non event.... obviously the super turbo busted first, after taking 3 heads for $3 in bountuies i eventually exited in the low 200's when a button steal with K7 ran into KQ.. i ran ok in the other two tourneys before i possibly played aces as bad as they can be played in the $1 donkfest... i limped in earl position hoping for a raise which never came, the flop came Kxx and i led for half the pot, the turn brought a jack so i blasted all in and got called off course by King Jack.
in the $2 tourney i was about 30th but there was still 200+ runners, with min cashes all the way to the top 20 i could not be bothered to play another 2-3 hours so i just blasted all in until i got eliminated - its no wondner my sharkscope is a disgrace, i give up on these so easily!!
Mug made a cash in this tourney, not sure where he came but he made $2.86 profit and was up for a least an hour later than me!
Cash play was a mix of funny, terrible with a few suckouts for good measure.
i played a decent 800 hand session of $25nl and lost about $25, running that amount below expectation, there were some serious muggings like AA > JK but i played some hands terribly - i will highlight two embarsasments at the end.
Later on i went bum hunting at $50 nl heads up and won about $60 to save the day but i got extremly lucky like hitting trips with A3 against 1010 all in on a 935 board.
these hands are a joke, im embarassed looking at them!

Weekend Review
i had planned to log a monster session of hands over the weekend, Friday night saw a rakeback payment send me over $800 and then i put in a decent session over a few hundred hands to put me upto $850, i then lost that heads up.. stopped had a few drinks and lost my $120 partypoker account playing blackjack which has been a long standing vice for me (thank fuck full tilt has no casino!)
anyway woke up Saturday pissed off and vowed to win it back, i played numerous small sessions totalling 3k hands which is a lot for me and i managed to end up a decent amount up with a decent $30 rakeback or so to come just for the weekend. graph and stats from 25nl below, somehow i have messed up my graph/stats from heads up but i lost about $60
as normal most of the winnings comes from $25nl, my heads up never got going and numerous times i got hit and run buy the short-stackers i look for - it has to be expected though, the Short Stack strtegy is all about doubling up and leaving, buying back in on a different table with the profit safely banked.
not a lot else done this weekend, played both days of football for once, a 3-0 win Saturday saw my 4th goal in 5 appearances with two from the bench... Sunday saw a 4-2win as well.
tonight im planning on a few drinks and im watching the wrestling... sad i know but it is my guilty pleasure... alongside this i will play a couple of tourneys and hopefully make a decent profit - ill report back tomorrow.
Bankroll a healthy $877

Lol at Previous Post
haha yes a little drunk last night, resulting in the demise of my drunk poker account i'm a tad annoyed at the loss but I think it was fully expected!
Full Tilt was a mixed bag, my biggest ever hand total for the day with 1.7k hands at 25nl for a $100 profit, unfortunatly i played 300 hands at 50nlHU and lost over a $100 before I realised I should stop and have a drink or summit!
went on this morning and won a bit back so my bankroll is over $800 again.
Plan for tonight is a big session at $25nl maybe try and hit 2k hands again, will post tomotto with my results.

Nice Cash Play Hand
Just had a nice session in my weekly pot limit cash game with a couple of my work buddies, going into the session i was down about £8 and it was paying up time after the session.... i played a solid enough game and going into the last hand i was about £25 up...then this crazy hand comes up.
We are playing 3 handed and the last game is Pot Limit Omaha... Dean makes a standard button raise to 70p and i annouce "i'll call to see the flop" knowing that im going to need a sick flop for my 2 3 7 9 rainbow!!
Flop comes ACE 3 3... sick!! its on me and i bet 50p, a small teaser begging to be re-raised, Mug folds and Dean calls.... next card is a 3! i mutter something about a pocker pair being nice and bet around £2... Dean calls... river is another Ace so the board reads AA333... i do some excellent acting, talking about pocket pairs and aces etc... i eventually bet £2.70 and Dean re-raises to £6.50...at this moment i actually wonder if he has pocket aces for a sick sick Quads over Quads but eventually i man up and go all in, Dean has another £15 behind. Dean ponders for ages and folds showing an ace.... grrr really wish he had a pocker pair and i would of scooped a massive pot!
Online has been pretty poor, i didnt play Monday as i felt tired and a bit pissed off, a certain receipe for disaster, yesterday i booked a $40 profit over around 500 hands at $25nl and then went on after the Arsenal game, i played heads up and initally won about $25 before losing a stupid amount of hands and tilted eventually losing over $100..i then lost $30 this morning cos i couldnt lay down KK's on a ten high flop when the villain obviously has a set and then AK on a AAJ910 board when villain had 10's.
bankroll is still tidy at $709 and i have withdrawn some dollars into my account... really want to put some volume in as ive only played 7k hands at $25nl
oh yeah, i got a free $6 on party Poker which is now $33 - happy days!
* Edit won $59 on Full Tilt over like 300 hands which is a nice semi recovery then played Party Poker and now ive got $117 after some Omahahaha.
eazy game. sometimes. karma dont bite me!

Sickest Hand ever
been running like god so I suppose this was bound to happen.... first hand after sitting down with a short-stacked villain...didnt realise he had rebrought to $50 until i was committed to he hand.... i put him on an ace with a high heart or pocketpair with a heart so figured i was ahead...didnt realise people called 3 bets with 34 suited sigh.

Recovering Well
Bank roll on the rise, upto $660, so with rakeback will be hopefully near $700.
i might withdraw $100 back to my dad as an inital pay back for his stake.
most of my profits have been at $50nl headsup, i really should dig out some hand histories as the play has been shocking.
playing a £5 rebuy tourney at my mates tonight, i should at least cash but with my mate owing me 8 cans of cider it might be a struggle - i think i might plan to buy the new PES game with the winnings so maybe that will focus me...
big session lined up for tomorrow night, probably wanna do 1k hands minimum and then some tourneys on Party Poker so i can have a drink.... i will self-ban on full tilt for 24 hours!!
anyways its been going well for me, hope you guys are having similar luck!
*Edit won $47 in a 20 minute burst to finish off my 50 ftps.... AK outflopping 9's and jacks and the getting paid off on a rivered nutflush..
i have withdrawn $100 so leaves bankroll at $606 + rakeback to come

Drunk Poker Plan
Played a little on Sunday and today, won about $50 on cash over the two days grinding $25nl and the occasional pop at $50NL HU... Sunday was my tourney night, did about 10 tourneys, only really got going in a $3 KO tourney - finishing 45th out of 1000+ seems impressive but it only netted me about $7.
My freeroll was again great value, 300 runners and top 63 pay prizes of $25 upwards to $1k for the winner - i exit on the 1st level when i gamble against a donk with AQ but cant hit against his pocket nines...a loose move maybe but the fella had shoved and lost with JQ and K10 already..... i did get a bit of respite in a $5 massive sattelite to the Double Deuce, 1600 runners and top 400 or so get a $22 ticket, i trebled up early and just held one easily for the prize which i have converted to tourney dollars.
I have been thinking a lot about why i have lost the plot on numerous occasions, i initially blamed tilt but looking at it properly it is drunken tilt. A week ago i tilted and lost $100ish but i stopped logged off, on Friday i tilted but as i had drink flowing through my body i didnt stop, i went onto a $400 heads up game - clearly a drunken decision. looking back im pretty certain when i have lost $400+ it was when i had been drinking.
so from now on, whenever i have a drink at home i am going to use the self ban feature for 24 hours, i simply cannot trust myself.
I am going to set up a new poker account with $50 and that will be used whenever i am drunk and fancy a game, more than likely this money wont last to long but id rather gurantee a $50 loss than risk a potential $500+ loss.
bankroll at $437 & $22 Tourney dollars.

Staked
got $350 to try and start again, just had a session at $10nl and it was disgusting not sure if I can drop down and play at this level, to many crazy players who cant fold.
ill review my goals but I guess my am is to get upto $750 and a roll for $25nl
ill review my goals but I guess my am is to get upto $750 and a roll for $25nl
The end of No More Pain
I cant even last a month without being a degenerate fuckwit
started fine, was up about $50 at the usual stakes.
went on later drunk, no problem ill just play 5c/10c, i drop 6 buyins in an hour... head to heads up and lose $50 with aces.
head to $2 $4 headsup and go allin with K9 on a Kxx flop villain has KQ
change table and go all in with 10's on an 8 high board, villain has QQ.
I cant even show the hand histories as I exited the tables before the river came out
bankroll is $32.81 - no joke. lost $700+ & months of grinding in 90 stupid minutes.
I have no idea what to do now, i have no money to redeposit, no-one is going to one to stake a fuckwit. I cant grind 1c/2c.
i have my rakebrain freroll tomorrow, i think the only way this blog and my poker will continue is if i take the sucker down for the $1k or whatever it is first prize.
please leave comments telling me what a retard i am.
thanks.

Quick Update
very small update, didnt play Wednesday as the Mrs had her only night off this week so we just chilled and watched tv.
Yesterday i jumped on in the morning before work and lost about $25 heads up mainly due to river a flush which filled the villains boat.
Come the evening i was knackered but was determined to wipe off the morrnings losses and to earn my 50 full tilt points.... 45 minutes later the job was done and i ended up in profit
play a little cash play at lunch with my work mates, won about £20, would of won a lot more but bottled the last Omaha hand, i held KJQ8 with two spades, there was a raise and reraise preflop and a pot sized bet on a flop of K** with two spades...i folded as my flush draw was jack high and with the action preflop i figured a K qith a queen kicker werent great - i also knew that his flop bet of £4.50 meant he was commited for his last £10 on the turn so i folded.
all the money went in on a non spade 10 turn and the original raiser won with two pair 10's and fives, the river paired and i actually would of scooped the near £40 pot with two pair -still a good fold i think.
fancy a session tonight, will probably grind my 50 points 9 tabling $25nl and then drop the amount of tables and watch the England under 21's - fancy a bet on Walcott Scoring and England winning.
Bankrolll $778

Drunken Tourney Night 2
so the drunken tourny night was upon us, me and mug decided to only 4 table this time and again the drink of choices was Stronbows for me and Wine for the more cultured mug.
Being high rollers we selected the $2 6 man mtt, a $3 KO mtt as well as a $3 90 man sng & $2 180 sng... the $2 sng and $3 KO were write off's for me fairly early exits - one exit hand really made me laugh - i raise preflop 5 bbs with pocket 9's, get called, flop comes 23Q villain checks i go all in - he calls with jack 10 and hits a runner runner straight - he didnt have a lot of chips so how can he call!!!
$3 KO went a bit better, i eventually bust 12/90 - close but no cigar, you'' be pleased to know i cashed in the $2 MTT - 700ish runners and i came 60th or summit - won $3.85!! go me.
after the tourneys finished i decided to play a couple of super turbos - perfect for drunk poker - all you do is push or fold - i came 3rd and 1st for a small score.
to end drunken tourney night me and mug played a couple of heads up - HORSE and Omaha and a 9 man matrix - i lost them all.
so the tourney night ended as -$2 for me and -$20 for mug, will post the sharky when i find it....
Mug didnt really get anything going and the one tourney he was running well in, the $2 stt he finsihed 21st (top 18 pay) when his aces got cracked by kings - big pot as well - apparently he feels like poo today and is not happy at losing so much so drunken tourney nights may be over - im sure he'll change his mind - drunken tourney nights are fun!!
alongside this madness i dabbled in cash, i wont bore you with the details but i won back all the money from yesterday and more - found the donks i should be finding and played well. only one hiccup to tell, i sat down at a $5/$10 game for a laugh and it auto-posted a blind - bye-bye half a buyin at my normal level.
ill leave you with this chat log, villain was an idiot constantly berating me so i bite back after seeing him as a $2k loser on poker table ratings (not big or clever, but we were heads up so not like im mugging him off in front of anyone) - nothing better than sucking out on a toolbox - i mean calling me a poor negro cause i have the black woman avatar - would he think i was a penguin if i had that one!!

Cash Out Curse
The Cash Out Curse is as big as a myth as the Loch Ness Monster, or Man landing on the moon.... supposedly you withdraw money and the poker site presses a button to make you lose so you deposit more - but seeing as i withdrew $50 last night to help out a bleak looking family bank account and then proceeded to lose $60 over the nights session could it actually be true?
No. i lost money because im a tool. i didnt follow my poker rules. i did not play No More Pain Poker. im very suprised i didnt have a sleepless night following my shambles.
it started out with be playing heads-up at around 6pm after dinner, i couldnt find any filthy shortstackers so just found a losing player based on Poker Table Ratings. I got owned for nearly a full buy-in, biggest hand was holding Q9 on a Q45 flop bet call, turn queen bet call, river 3, i bet he goes all in - i call not even thinking about 67 for the straight.
Sigh. later on i put in a mammoth (for me) 1000 hand session 9 tabling $25nl and I won everything back bar $5, all was ok now!!
I logged off played footie manager and watched some shite TV. Later on in the evening i fancied looking for some more donks and again couldnt find any shortstackers. I proceeded to lose $75 against a couple of players who werent great but i think i was tilted. the majority of this loss was a stupid/gay/retarded shove with Ace 10 no diamonds on a 23410 flop with 3 diamonds, villain had 3 bet me preflop and led the flop so I knew he had a decent hand, i wasnt suprised to see him turn over KK with a diamond and I missed my miniscule outs.
I rallied back $15 or so at Omaha but my bank roll has been decimated by $60 ($110 with thw withdrawal), im not annoyed at the amount as losses are inevitable, im annoyed at me not following my rules.
I have played this morning and found just the type of donk i should be tracking down, winning $25 against a player who 3bet shoved every 4-5 hands... i waited for aces and called easily holding againts KQ.
tonight is another tourney night with Mug, hopefully ill run better than last time where i had one min cash for like 10 efforts.
Bankroll $685

tonight is another tourney night with Mug, hopefully ill run better than last time where i had one min cash for like 10 efforts.
Bankroll $685

Weekend Update
Not a great deal of poker played this weekend, i logged on Saturday morning whilst waiting to go to work and won about $30 9 tabling $25nl, went to work and played a $2 rebuy on Paddypower whilst doing my dads accounts, came 80/450ish so not even a cash.
In the afternoon i played a redic $25k freeroll for my mate who was at football, $4k to the winner and top 400 paying prizes of $20 upwards, i bust out 1000ish when my AK aipf against AQ for a top 30 chipstack and the villain 4 flushes - i was so pissed off at that!!
in the evening with the mrs working and kids in bed i planned to do a monster cash session, i started doing my standard $25nl but could get nothing going, running into a few coolers like TPTK againts overpair/Sets... i decided to then change to 4 tables of 10nl but was totally bored.
A Switch to heads-up was a lot more fun and i won a fair whack despite repeated hit and runners, every time this happens i track the person down call them a c*** and mark them down as purple so i know to avoid them in the future.
so bank roll is $775 as i had a rakeback payment as well and graph/stats are below -
i will leave you with this lovely set up hand, made all the sweeter by the villain bein an absolute mug who was telling me to quit and to save my money as i was a donk - LOL!!

First Day of No More Pain Poker
Two smallish sessions made up the first day of my new disciplined start, first off a session in the morning hoping to find some drunken Americans, session was fairly steady only 1 bad move with a $11 river bluff running into the ace flush that I was trying to represent. After a day of work, a nice steak dinner with my parents and an acupuncture appointment for hayfever and headaches I have been suffering with I want really in the mood to play, but I wont play 20,000 hands by not playing so logged on and booked a similar profit to the morning to put me at an impressive 2 buy-ins up over 600 hands.
After watching a few tv shows with the mrs and then watching the end of a very boring Celtic vs Rapid Vienna match I did my usual search for a few shortstackers at heads-up, I found a few people who would bet and win the first hand and then refuse to play me!! Been happening quite a bit lately and annoyed me a bit, I managed to siphon a $3 profit off one before deciding I couldn’t be bothered with the constant sitting out and logged off bankroll plus Take Two Bonus is $703
As for live cash play, me and two mates from work have just sneaked off for a 90 minute dealers choice game, I managed to finish up £13.80 but these session are so random that by time it gets to payday ill could be up or down upto £50!
Mrs is working tomorrow night so I expect ill try and motor a minimum of 1000 hands then, I might try and see if I can do some sneaky hands whilst I do some accounting work for my Dad Tomorrow morning, trouble is he normally sets me up on a donkfest on Paddy Power Poker hoping ill take a decent cash down!!

Sept Review - October Goals
Last session of the month last night and it was a bit of a hairy one, $30 up on the Full Ring $25nl games before dropping $60 headsup, playing a short stacker and running into 3 full houses, I left when his stack was upto $80 – quadrupling his buy-in off me grrr.
Won back $30 this morning but this will be included in my October Figures for the purpose of this post...
So anyways onto this post, I see a lot of blogs doing it and I think it’s a great way of getting focus… the September review is not gonna happen, basically I won steadily reached $750ish and the dropped to $330 on a stupid tilt night, since then I have grown this back to $600 playing sensible and within limits.
So October goals, basically the main aim is to play a whole month without being a stupid prick, keep within my limits and get a high volume in. My Cash results have improved greatly and I want to play a load of hands to make sure me winning is because im a good player, and not because of variance.
So this month goals and rules–
• I want to play a minimum of 20,000 hands at $25nl Full Ring, I can also take shots at any shortstacker at heads-up I can find.
• I will only play tournament if in the mood, no firing up 6 tournaments then realising I cant be arsed and playing like a donk.
• If I have been drinking stick to cheap games, STT’s or MTT’s $2 or below – cash 10nl and no more than 4 tables
• $50 Stop Loss at cash tables
• Post my session results every day
• Post Hand Histories on RTR or 2+2
• Final Table a MTT with 200+ runners
By the end of all of that my actual aim for the month is to increase the bankroll to minimum of $750, and to withdraw $200 which is what I deposited a couple of months ago. As my bankroll is $600+$50 take two bonus I basically need to win $300 this month.
Long term I want to equally grow the bankroll and withdraw to pay off some debt., I know people say never to withdraw but with a family and debt I need to prioritise, I don’t give a fuck about climbing levels, im playing poker as a hobby which provides a side income.
So there it is my October Goals, basically behave myself, make a profit and kick on.
Time for real poker, time for discipline – time for no more pain!
*have put a goal & rule up for Mug as well!
